摘要: A watercraft propelled by a jet propulsion unit that is positioned within a tunnel in the underside of the watercraft. The jet propulsion unit is supported for pivotal movement about a horizontally extending transverse pivot access and the housing of the jet propulsion unit is divided into separate components so that the water inlet portion may be rotated to an upwardly facing service position without rotation of the discharge nozzle, steering nozzle, or reverse thrust buckets associated therewith. As a result, an extremely rigid support is accomplished which nevertheless permits ease of servicing.

摘要: Apparatus for assisting in boarding or alighting a watercraft having a hull and a deck is disclosed and includes a ladder which is movable between a stowed position, in which it overlies a portion of the deck, and a deployed position in which it extends from the watercraft forwardly and downwardly of the deck to a landing area in order to assist in boarding or alighting the watercraft. The ladder is attached to the watercraft at a forward location thereof. In one embodiment, the ladder is pivotably mounted by means of a pair of spaced brackets to the deck of the watercraft. In another embodiment, the ladder is slidable within a pair of spaced mounting brackets and is adapted to engage a clip, attached to each mounting bracket, to enable the ladder to pivot to its deployed position. In a third embodiment, the ladder includes a pair of hinged sections with one of the sections being pivotably mounted to the deck at a forward location of the watercraft so that the second pivot can be located forward of the bow of the watercraft to enable the second section of the ladder to extend to the landing area when the ladder is in its deployed position. For use with each of the above described embodiments, the deck of the watercraft includes a recessed area in which the ladder lies when it is in its stowed position. In addition, various projections, which are longitudinally spaced with respect to the watercraft, are provided in the recessed area and are disposed between cross-pieces of the ladder when in its stowed position so as to locate the ladder and provide a stepping area for the occupants of the watercraft.

摘要: A thermal environment sensor has a single temperature detector for detecting temperature and producing an output representative of the detected temperature, the temperature detector having, when heated by a predetermined constant power, a convective heat transfer coefficient giving it a wind velocity dependent temperature drop characteristic in close conformity with the wind velocity dependence of the effective temperature drop felt by a human body. A heater is provided for heating the temperature detector, and an electric power supply is connected to the heater for supplying the heater with a constant electric power corresponding to the predetermined constant power, and a temperature estimating circuit is connected to the temperature detector for correcting the output of the temperature detector by a predetermined constant temperature difference for thereby obtaining the effective temperature felt by a human body. Furthermore, a wind velocity estimating circuit is also connect to the temperature detector so that when the temperature detector is alternatingly supplied with a first and a second level of electric power, the absolute value of the wind velocity may be estimated from the heat transfer coefficient of the temperature detector obtained using the temperature of the temperature detector at the first and second levels of power and the respective first and second levels of power.

摘要: A venting and drain arrangement for a small watercraft that is formed with a tunnel in which the propulsion unit for the watercraft is formed. The venting arrangement includes a vent pipe that extends through a venting recess formed in the hull to the engine compartment. A well is formed in the venting recess in which water can accumulate and a drain conduit extends from the well to the tunnel for discharging water to the body of water in which the watercraft is operating without necessitating holes that will be visible when the watercraft is operating.
