Abstract:
In one aspect, a method for tapping conventional multimedia connections such as video telephony according to Lawful Interception standards in a packet-oriented network is provided. A control, for the duration of a call, replaces the point-specific data of the respective partner end by the point-specific data of the tapping device, thereby guiding the useful data flows via the tapping device, tapping them and optionally adapting them to the interface of the tapping agencies.
Abstract:
A cost-effective transmission of signaling data via a switching system comprising a first mostly highly reliable message distribution system, using at least one other message distribution system is provided. The signaling data is divided in the emitting peripheral appliance, into a data relevant to the switching system and data not relevant to the switching system. Relevant data is transmitted via the first message distribution system, and non relevant data which is transmitted via the at least one other message distribution system. Both parts can be joined together again in the receiving peripheral device to form the original signaling data. Furthermore, a stand-alone error detection process for the at least one other message distribution system runs in the peripheral appliances, giving rise to a deviation of the non relevant data via the original message distribution system, in the event of error, or the use of a functional, redundant peripheral device.
Abstract:
Means for preventing a split brain scenario during high availability requests by providing a communication link between a switching control device operating on the application level and the module operating on the protocol level are provided. Quitting of the correct physical address is shifted to the application level via the communication link.
Abstract:
According to prior art, for example, when danger or environmental catastrophe are imminent, the population is warned by information guided via the communication network. This type of warning is however limited when the communication network consists of a plurality of sub-networks and the (warning) information must thus be transmitted over network boundaries to the subscriber The invention solves this problem in that a warning profile is associated with each route/transit switching centre trunk group. The association is carried out during the establishment of the route/transit switching centre trunk group, and is updated as required as changes of the network configuration. Each network transition implicitly thus has one such warning profile.
Abstract:
According to the invention, the type of transmission of signaling information, for a user-interaction with a speech dialogue system in a packet network, is determined with relation to a simplifying processing for DTMF signaling information. A speech dialogue system without special hardware for the processing of DTMF in-band signaling is provided and maintains, during the codec negotiation or the fixing of the coding method for application, that only services with DTMF out-of-band signaling, or signaling by means of dedicated data packets (for example RFC 2833) are carried out by the speech dialogue system. The above may be achieved whereby coding methods with in-band signaling are basically not permitted with relation to the codec negotiation or the control device, controlling the speech dialogue system, is embodied such that, independently of the coding method, out-of-band signaling is always stipulated by the control device. According to a further embodiment, an as a rule smaller-sized speech dialogue system is provided with hardware devices for the processing of DTMF in-band signaling for service requirements, for which out-of-band signaling or signaling by means of dedicated packets cannot be required. The efficiency of information output in packet networks and an economic resource application is thus achieved.
Abstract:
A protocol is provided being executed with a redundancy of 1:1. As a result, an identical clone, with identical hardware, identical software and an identical data base, is allocated to each switching system to be protected, as a redundancy partner. Switching is carried out in a quick, secure and automatic manner by a superordinate, real-time enabled monitor which establishes communication with the switching systems which are arranged in pairs. In the event of communication loss with respect to the active communication system, real-time switching to the redundant switching system is carried out.
Abstract:
Access gateways in a packet-based network known in prior art have to log onto media gateway controllers that control said access gateways via standard protocols. The problem with said process is that switching to equivalent redundant devices takes too long. In order to minimize the time it takes to switch to equivalent devices, the access gateway simultaneously logs onto the at least two media gateway controllers such that at least two packet-based signaling connections are established while only one thereof is activated from the point of view of network services for the same plurality of users according to a specific selection criterion
Abstract:
According to the invention, an information output, e.g. a voice output, video information output, or a simultaneous output of video and audio information, which is to be transmitted via a packet-oriented network, is generation by means of pre-coded information output components. Said pre-coded information output components are present in a memory system and are retrieved as part of the processing of a request for the output of information by an information output system. Similarly, generation rules for the information output can be stored in the memory system and accessed by the information output system in order to generate the information output. According to one embodiment, information output components or generation rules are created in an information output configuration system and are subsequently made available in the memory system. The invention optimizes the use of resources for information-output services. The inventive distribution of functions permits the advantageous utilization of the performance of the related components for processing services of this type. The recorded announcement services capability known in TDM (time division multiplexing) networks can thus also be implemented in packet-oriented networks.
Abstract:
The invention relates to an exchange for a telecommunication network, with a message/dialogue device, whereby said message/dialogue device, comprises one interface each for a packet-oriented data transmission network and a line-oriented data transmission network and a virtual port for controlling the message/dialogue device, by means of a connection running through the packet-oriented data transmission network, for the transmission of messages and/or dialogues to a user.
