摘要: A portable electrocardiograph having a display function and method is disclosed. In measuring an electrocardiographic waveform, an electrocardiograph (1) is held in position by a grip including a negative electrode (14) while simultaneously pressing a contact section including a positive electrode (16) against an electrode contact portion other than the right hand of the subject. The measurement result is displayed on a display unit (10) during the measurement operation. The measurement method is divided into the induction mode I in which the contact section including the positive electrode (16) is pressed against the subject's left hand, and the induction mode II in which the contact section including the positive electrode (16) is pressed against the subject's lower left abdomen. In induction mode I, the measurement result is displayed horizontally on the display (10), while in the measurement in mode II, the measurement result is displayed vertically.

According to one aspect of the present invention, a portable electrocardiograph is provided which includes: a rectangular housing having at least a first outer surface and a second outer surface; a first electrode provided on the first outer surface of the housing; an electrode formation face provided on the second outer surface of the housing; and a second electrode provided within the electrode formation face; wherein the electrode formation face includes an electrode region in which the second electrode is positioned and a non-electrode region which is positioned so as to surround the electrode region.

摘要: An electronic thermometer includes a temperature sensing assembly incorporating a temperature sensor element, and a measuring and processing unit for determining and displaying the temperature, wherein the temperature sensing assembly and the measuring and processing unit are physically separable from each other. The temperature sensing assembly includes a code for recording information of the temperature characteristic or the like of the incorporated temperature sensor element. With the aid of the code, the measuring and processing unit is capable of correcting nonuniformity in the characteristic of the mutually exchangeable temperature sensing assemblies, to thereby assure a correct reading.

摘要: A doze detector detects when the user begins to go to sleep, by detecting the blinks of the user's eye, regardless of the position of the iris, using at least two reflection type sensors. A blink is determined to have occurred only when both light detecting elements detect a blink. The number and/or duration of the blinks is then used to determine whether the user is beginning to doze. An alarm can then be produced to prevent the user from going to sleep.
