摘要:
A doze detector detects when the user begins to go to sleep, by detecting the blinks of the user's eye, regardless of the position of the iris, using at least two reflection type sensors. A blink is determined to have occurred only when both light detecting elements detect a blink. The number and/or duration of the blinks is then used to determine whether the user is beginning to doze. An alarm can then be produced to prevent the user from going to sleep.

Measured blood pressure data is stored in a memory in association with information related to a measurement time. In response to manipulation of a manipulation portion (memory recall switch), blood pressure data associated with the measurement time within a prescribed time period (for example, 10 minutes) from the measurement time of reference blood pressure data, among the blood pressure data stored in the memory, is retrieved as specific data. Then, an average value is calculated based on the specific data, and the calculated average value is displayed as an evaluation index.

A blood pressure measurement device includes a measurement fluid bag, a sensor for measuring a change in internal pressure of the measurement fluid bag, a blood pressure measurement unit for calculating a blood pressure value based on the change in internal pressure of the measurement fluid bag obtained by the sensor, an environmental information measurement unit for measuring environmental information in association with a calculation process of the blood pressure value, a storage unit for storing a measurement result, a recording processing unit for storing the calculated blood pressure value and the environmental information in the storage unit in association with each other and a notification unit for notifying a blood pressure fluctuation with respect to an environmental fluctuation based on the blood pressure value and the environmental information.

When a predetermined condition for measurement is selected from a plurality of conditions for measurement by operating one of measurement switches before measuring the blood pressure, a pressure begins to be applied to a bladder in response to the selection and the measurement of the blood pressure starts. The measured data of the blood pressure and the selected condition for measurement are linked to each other and stored in a memory. Because the measurement of the blood pressure starts upon selection of the predetermined condition by operating one of the measurement switches, one operation can serve both as switching to instruct the starting of the measurement and selecting the predetermined condition for measurement. Thus, an additional operation for inputting a condition for measurement is not necessary, and this makes it possible to prevent forgetting to input or incorrectly inputting a condition for measurement from occurring.

A blood pressure monitor includes a cuff having an air bag, a main-unit casing in which an inflation/deflation mechanism for inflating/deflating the air bag is provided, a flexible air tube connecting the air bag and the inflation/deflation mechanism, and a retractor unit capable of drawing in the air tube that is drawn out from the main-unit casing into an air tube housing provided in the main-unit casing. With this structure, the blood pressure monitor can be made superior in housing of the air tube connecting the cuff and the main-unit casing.

A blood pressure monitor includes a switch for designating a user who is a subject. The switch for designating a user also serves as a power switch. When this switch is pressed as the first step for blood pressure measurement, the blood pressure monitor is turned on. The blood pressure monitor does not operate even when a switch for blood pressure measurement operation or a switch for display of recorded past measurement values is pressed before the switch for designating a user is pressed.

In wrapping a blood pressure measurement cuff enclosing therein a bladder, which is inflated when supplied with air, around a region for measurement, first, a predetermined amount of air is supplied to the bladder and then enclosed therein. Then, the blood pressure measurement cuff is wrapped around the region for measurement of a subject for the purpose of measuring his/her blood pressure. During this wrapping process, relative variations in the pressure in the bladder are sequentially detected. The time period in which the detection results indicate that the variation has not reached a predetermined threshold value, the wrapping proceeds. When the detection results indicate that the variation has reached the predetermined threshold value, the wrapping is terminated.
