Abstract: Provided is a method of providing an advertisement in an indoor space using a system including a processor and a memory storing information about a content of each of advertisements including a first advertisement. The method includes: (a) calculating a base fee of the first advertisement from a content of the first advertisement stored in the memory based on a first criterion determined in advance based on a viewer's impression of each advertisement; (b) calculating an additional fee of the first advertisement from the content of the first advertisement based on a second criterion determined in advance to determine whether to be an advertisement improper to the system; (c) selecting an advertisement to be provided from among the plurality of advertisements based on a sum of the base fee calculated and the additional fee calculated; and (d) outputting an instruction to provide, to the indoor space, the advertisement selected.

Abstract: Disclosed is a method for controlling a cordless telephone device for use in a system that allows remote control of a home electric appliance. The method includes a first generation step of causing a first generation unit in a handset to encode audio input via a sound receiving unit in the handset to generate a first stream, and a first transmission step of transmitting the first stream to a base unit. The first generation step includes causing the first generation unit to generate instruction bit information and a first instruction stream when a first trigger indicating a request to start the remote control is given to the first generation unit. The first transmission step includes transmitting the instruction bit information and the first instruction stream to the base unit through a multiplexing scheme that is common to transmission of a first stream generated when the first trigger is not given.

Abstract: A playback method of reading out and playing streams from a recording medium is provided. A stream file. including a first luminance video and a second luminance video, a playlist file, first and second combination information, elementary streams that can be played together with the first luminance video, and elementary streams that can be played together with the second luminance video are recorded in the recording medium. Abstract: A playback device includes: an attribute reader that reads out first attribute information, indicating whether a dynamic range of luminance of the video stream is a first dynamic range or a second dynamic range, from a management information file recorded in the recording medium in a manner correlated with the video stream; a decoder that generates decoded video information by reading the video stream out from the recording medium and decoding the video stream; and an outputter that, in a case where the first attribute information that has been read out indicates the second dynamic range, outputs the decoded video information, along with maximum luminance information indicating a maximum luminance of the video stream in accordance with the second dynamic range.

Abstract: A memory storing AV data for playing back encrypted video on a playback device is provided. The AV data includes a system stream file including encrypted video information, and a management information file. The system stream file includes a first segment in which is repeated a first data unit that can be individually decrypted using a first decryption key, and has a second data unit of the same data size as the first data unit but cannot be decrypted by the first decryption key. The system stream file also includes a second segment which can all be decrypted using a second decryption key that the playback device has in common with another playback device. The management information file has a time map in which are correlated I-picture serving as random access point, and a presentation clock time of the I-picture. The I-picture is multiplexed in the second segment.

Abstract: A playback device plays video streams recorded in a recording medium, in which are one or more video streams including at least one of an HDR stream whose dynamic range of luminance of video corresponds to a high dynamic range (HDR), and an SDR stream whose dynamic range of luminance of video corresponds to a standard dynamic range (SDR) narrower than HDR, and identification information indicating whether the HDR stream is included in the one or more video streams. A playback method of the playback device includes: reading the identification information from the recording medium; acquiring playback capability information indicating whether the playback device can play the HDR stream, and display capability information indicating whether a connected display device can display the HDR video; and deciding on a video stream from the one or more video streams, according to the identification information, the playback capability information, and the display capability information.
