Abstract: Provided is a data protection method which includes: receiving transaction data which includes a first hash value obtained from history information of a home; obtaining, from a data server, a second hash value computed by the data server performing computation processing on encrypted history information without decrypting the encrypted history information, the encrypted history information being history information of the home encrypted using a secure computation method which enables computation without decrypting the encrypted history information, the encrypted history information being obtained from the home; verifying the transaction data, and determining whether the first hash value and the second hash value match; and when a validity of the transaction data is verified and the first hash value and the second hash value match, recording the transaction data in a distributed ledger.

Abstract: An update management method is used in an onboard network system having a plurality of electronic control units (ECUs) that performs communication via a network and connects to an external tool. The method includes a master ECU storing a shared key and an expiration date of the shared key. When the master ECU receives an update message, verifying update authority information indicating authority of the external tool, and determining whether or not a transmission of the update message is within a range of an authority of the external tool. The method also includes acquiring external point-in-time information, determining whether or not the external point-in-time information is before the expiration date, and transmitting an alert message prompting an update of the shared key. The ECUs are prioritized according to a designated level of authority, including chassis-related functions, body-related functions, safety/comfort functions, and telematics/infotainment functions.

Abstract: In a fraud-detection method for use in an in-vehicle network system including a plurality of electronic control units (ECUs) that exchange messages on a plurality of buses, a plurality of fraud-detection ECUs each connected to a different one of the buses, and a gateway device, a fraud-detection ECU determines whether a message transmitted on a bus connected to the fraud-detection ECU is malicious by using rule information stored in a memory. The fraud-detection ECU transmits an error message including a message identifier of a message determined to be malicious. The gateway device receives updated rule information transmitted to a first bus among the buses, selects a second bus different from the first bus, and transfers the updated rule information only to the second bus. A fraud-detection ECU connected to the second bus acquires the updated rule information and updates the rule information stored therein by using the updated rule information.

When the vehicle is running, additionally determining whether the network type information indicates a drive network which is connected to a controller related to vehicle travel, when the network type information indicates the drive network, not updating to the updated fraud detection rules, and when the network type information does not indicate the drive network, updating to the updated fraud detection rules.
