Abstract: A cable spacer for maintaining positions of a plurality of cables relative to each other is provided. The cable spacer includes a frame, a hanger and a plurality of clamps that couple the plurality of cables to the frame to maintain the positions of the plurality of cables relative to each other. A first clamp includes a receiver with a first arcuate surface, and a keeper that is adjustably coupled to the receiver to be adjusted from a first position to a second position to interfere with removal of the region of the first cable from the first concave pocket. A locking system adjusts the keeper from the first position to the second position relative to the receiver, and maintains the keeper in the second position to exert a compressive force on the first cable, urging the first cable into the first concave pocket.

Abstract: Fiber-optic equipment is often deployed in various locations, and performance of fiber-optic transmissions may be monitored as a gauge of equipment status to prevent costly and inconvenient communication outages. Events that damage equipment that eventually result in outage and may be desirable to address proactively, but the occurrence of such events may be difficult to detect only through equipment performance Presented herein are techniques for monitoring and maintaining fiber-optic equipment performance via enclosure sensors that measure physical properties within a fiber-optic equipment enclosure, such as temperature, pressure, light, motion, vibration, and moisture, which are often diagnostic and predictive of causes of eventual communication outages, such as temperature-induced cable loss (TICL), incomplete flash-testing during installation, exposure to hazardous environmental conditions, and tampering. An enclosure sensor package transmits the physical measurements to a monitoring station, and automatic determination of enclosure-related events may enable triaging and transmission of repair alerts to maintenance personnel.

Abstract: One or more system and associated methods for installing a line spacer upon adjacent lines that are suspended are provided. A system includes a portion for holding and releasing the line spacer onto the lines. The system includes a portion for actuating securing portions of the line spacer to secure the line spacer upon the lines. The system includes a flying drone portion for levitation of the portion for holding and the portion for articulating to the lines.

Abstract: A structure for supporting a wire includes a first portion including a body portion, and an alignment portion. The alignment portion defines a first alignment opening through which the alignment portion receives a first fastener. The first alignment opening extends along a first alignment axis between. A second portion defines a second alignment opening, extending along a second alignment axis, through which the second portion receives the first fastener. The second portion is spaced a distance from the body portion to define a wire opening into which the wire is received for support by the structure. The alignment portion is movable relative to the body portion between a first position, in which the first alignment axis and the second alignment axis are coaxial, and a second position, in which the first alignment axis and the second alignment axis are non-coaxial.

Abstract: A helical jumper connector includes a helical support member configured to support a wire. The helical support member includes a first leg having a first helical winding and a second leg having a second helical winding that defines a second axial opening. The first axial opening and the second axial opening are coaxial with the wire when the first helical winding and the second helical winding are wrapped around the wire and cooperatively engage with one another to support the wire. A jumper casting is configured to receive the helical support member. The helical support member and the jumper casting are electrically conductive such that the helical jumper connector forms an electrically conductive pathway to carry electrical current from the wire. A method of making a helical jumper connector assembly includes applying a compression force to a helical jumper connector comprising a helical support member received in a jumper casting.
