摘要： An in-line power disconnect assembly for electrical power distribution systems is provided. The in-line power disconnect assembly includes a first end section, a second end section, at least one insulator positioned between the first end section and the second end section, and a switch assembly positioned between the first end section and the second end section. Each of the first and second end sections include a conductor clamp that can be rotated or twisted relative to a longitudinal axis of the first or second end section between a clamping position and an open position.

摘要： A helical jumper connector includes a helical support member configured to support a wire. The helical support member includes a first leg having a first helical winding and a second leg having a second helical winding that defines a second axial opening. The first axial opening and the second axial opening are coaxial with the wire when the first helical winding and the second helical winding are wrapped around the wire and cooperatively engage with one another to support the wire. A jumper casting is configured to receive the helical support member. The helical support member and the jumper casting are electrically conductive such that the helical jumper connector forms an electrically conductive pathway to carry electrical current from the wire. A method of making a helical jumper connector assembly includes applying a compression force to a helical jumper connector comprising a helical support member received in a jumper casting.

摘要： A composite insulator containing means for providing early warning of impending failure due to stress corrosion cracking, flashunder, or destruction of the rod by discharge activity conditions is described. A composite insulator comprising a fiberglass rod surrounded by a polymer housing and connected with metal end fittings on either end of the rod is doped with a dye-based chemical dopant. The dopant is located around the vicinity of the outer surface of the fiberglass rod. The dopant is formulated to possess migration and diffusion characteristics, and to be inert in dry conditions and compatible with the insulator components. The dopant is positioned within the insulator such that upon the penetration of moisture through the housing to the rod through a permeation pathway in the outer surface of the insulator, the dopant will become activated and will leach out of the same permeation pathway or diffuse through the housing. The activated dopant then creates a deposit or stain on the outer surface of the insulator housing. The dopant comprises an oil-soluble dye, an indicator, or a stain compound that can either be visually identified, or is sensitive to radiation at one or more specific wavelengths. The dopant could also be formulated by a nanoparticle enabled material. Deposits of activated dopant on the outer surface of the insulator can be detected upon imaging of the outer surface of the insulator by appropriate imaging instruments or the naked eye.

摘要： To install a high voltage device, particularly a high voltage breaker having two interrupting chambers and a high voltage insulator in a simple earthquake resistant manner, an end flange of the high voltage insulator on the ground potential side is rotatably suspended from the support beam of a steel frame. A vibration damper is preferably provided between the high voltage breaker and its suspension device. The vibration damper is attached to a ball received in a socket which is mounted on the support beam. The two interrupting chambers which are connected to one another in a V-shape, are connected to high voltage lines. This inverted suspension is also suitable for current and voltage transformers and overvoltage arresters.
