    Abstract: Certain aspects of the present disclosure relate to methods and apparatus for handling mobility between areas with heterogeneous network slices in wireless communications systems operating according to new radio (NR) technologies. An exemplary method that may be performed by a UE includes receiving an indication that a network slice is not available, entering a connection management idle (CM-IDLE) state, and initiating a registration procedure with an access and mobility management function (AMF) subsequent to entering the CM-IDLE state.

    Abstract: The present disclosure provides techniques that may be applied, for example, in a multi-slice network for maintaining privacy when attempting to access the network. An exemplary method generally includes transmitting a registration request message to a serving network to register with the serving network; receiving a first confirmation message indicating a secure connection with the serving network has been established; transmitting, after receiving the first confirmation message, a secure message to the serving network comprising an indication of at least one configured network slice that the UE wants to communicate over, wherein the at least one configured network slice is associated with a privacy flag that is set; and receiving a second confirmation message from the serving network indicating that the UE is permitted to communicate over the at least one configured network slice.

    Abstract: Aspects relate to communication via multiple network slice services. A user equipment may support multiple network slice services (e.g., defined sets of network services and/or resources). At some point in time, the user equipment may communicate using a first network slice service provided by a first radio network entity (e.g., a first distributed unit, a first cell, a first base station, etc.). In addition, at some point in time, the user equipment may elect to use a second network slice service. In the event the first radio network entity is not available for the second network slice service, the user equipment may switch to a second radio network entity (e.g., a second distributed unit, a second cell, a second base station, etc.) to communicate using the second network slice service.

    Abstract: Various aspects of the present disclosure generally relate to wireless communication. In some aspects, a user equipment (UE) at an uncrewed aerial vehicle (UAV) or an aerial UE (AUE) may transmit a request message associated with a mobility management procedure, the request message including a command and control (C2) authorization payload associated with authorizing a direct C2 connection between the UAV and a controller. The UE at the UAV or the AUE may receive a response message, as part of the mobility management procedure, that indicates whether the direct C2 connection between the UAV and the controller is authorized.
