Abstract: Systems and methods are provided herein for including supplemental content with segments based on the complexity of the segment. This may be accomplished by a system receiving complexity information related to a media asset and user information related to a viewer to determine if one or more segments of the media asset is complex for the user. If the system receives a trick play command, from the user, during a segment categorized as complex, the system can use the complexity information and user information to generate supplemental content, facilitating better user understanding of the complex segment.

Based on these improvements, dynamic streaming content feeds are generated, which are specifically adapted to the determined interests of a user or a clustered group of users in order to increase viewership of and interest in content. Abstract: Systems and methods are provided for displaying personalized preview images during trick-play operations of a media asset based on user profile data and an importance of frames of the media asset. A request from a user to move a slider of a progress bar associated with a media asset is received while the media asset is being generated for display. A scene from the media asset that contains a play position indicated by the slider is identified and a frame that best matches user profile data of the user and importance data for the scene is identified. The identified frame is generated for display as an overlay over the displayed media asset.

Abstract: Systems and methods for creating, monitoring, and managing a breakout conference for a conference call are disclosed. The methods determine topics for breakout rooms and their complexity scores. A breakout room is created for the topics, including separate breakout rooms for complex topics. An expertise score based on a plurality of factors for each device associated with a participant is also calculated. Devices are assigned to separate breakout rooms based on either just the expertise score or if the expertise score meets the threshold of the complexity score. Performance within the breakout rooms is displayed in real-time, such as in a graph. A moderator schedule is generated based the performance within the breakout rooms, where priority is given to a breakout room that has a negative performance over a breakout room with a positive performance.

Abstract: The system generates a display providing condensing content for display under time constraints. In response to a selection of a program that has already started, the system retrieves information about the program. Based on this information, and information about the user, the system selects a subset of segments of the program, forming a shorter version of the content that fits within a reduced time interval, from the time of selection to a scheduled end time. Accordingly, the user is presented with the condensed version of the currently selected program by, including the important or relevant segments of the program. The system generates the condensed content by selecting segments of the program that are determined to be important to the user and that cumulatively fit with the available viewing time. The system may sort, score, or otherwise rank segment identifiers based on user profile information.

Abstract: Each user in a group watch session is identified, as is a media asset being consumed by the users. The media asset comprises a plurality of segments, and an availability level of each user is determined for each segment of the media asset. If the availability level of the user for a given segment is below a threshold level, at least one function of a chat application is disabled on a device associated with the user for at least the duration of the segment. If the availability level of the user for a given segment meets or exceeds the threshold level, including when the availability level rises to or above the threshold level after having been below the threshold level, the at least one function of the chat application is enabled or reenabled.

Abstract: A media guidance application may determine a length of a portion of a media asset that the user has missed and compare the length with a threshold length. If the length is greater than the threshold length, the media guidance application may generate a first summary of the missed portion of the media asset based on segments of the missed portion of the media asset that are of a first importance. If the length is not greater than the threshold length, the media guidance application may generate a second summary of the missed portion of the media asset based on segments of the missed portion of the media asset that are of the first importance and the second importance. The media guidance application may generate for display the summary.
