Abstract:
A computing system group member, signal bearing medium, and method. A configuration of a computing system group member is determined to be able to assume a role of a primary member of the computing system group and, in response thereto, a first status is assigned in the member. All members of the computing system group receive, in order, all messages directed to group members. A second status is assigned in response to determining that the configuration of the member is not able to support performance as a primary member. The member then processes, within the member, all messages that are transmitted to all members of the group when the member is assigned the first status and when the member is assigned the second status. The configuration of the member, while assigned either the first status or the second status, is adjusted based upon contents of the messages.
Abstract:
A method and apparatus for joining a plurality of nodes to a cluster. Each node in the cluster maintains a respective membership list identifying each active member node of the cluster. Membership change messaging is managed relative to multiple concurrent start requests to ensure that a first node is added to the respective membership lists before broadcasting a membership change message (MCM) in response to which, the nodes of the cluster, inclusive of the first node, add the second node to the respective membership lists.
Abstract:
An apparatus, program product and method utilize hidden group membership to facilitate the processing of originator requests to a group in a clustered computer system. With hidden group membership, a requesting originator is temporarily joined to a group in such a manner that the originator is both hidden and provided with limited access rights., e.g., so that some of the messages sent by the members of a group when processing the request are neither sent to nor received by the originator.
Abstract:
Some embodiments of a generator system can be used with the working fluid in a Rankine cycle. For example, the generator system can be used in a Rankine cycle to recover heat from one of a number of commercial applications and to convert that heat energy into electrical energy. In particular embodiments, the generator system may include a turbine generator apparatus to generate electrical energy and a liquid separator arranged upstream of the turbine generator apparatus.
Abstract:
A flash memory mass storage drive stores user files in a convenient credit card sized drive. Embodiments function as both a credit card and a mass storage drive. Communication may be through a host interface connector such as a USB connector, a magnetic interface, a smart card interface, and/or a near field communication interface. In certain embodiments the drive comprises a portion that is sufficiently thin to be swiped through a standard credit card, ATM, or point of sale device. The USB connector of the drive can easily be plugged into even a crowded receptacle of a host computing device.
Abstract:
Enclosed re-programmable non-volatile memory cards include at least two sets of electrical contacts to which the internal memory is connected. The two sets of contacts have different patterns, preferably in accordance with two different contact standards such as a memory card standard and that of the Universal Serial Bus (USB). One memory card standard that can be followed is that of the Secure Digital (SD) card. The cards can thus be used with different hosts that are compatible with one set of contacts but not the other. A cover that is hinged to the card to normally cover one set of contacts can be rotated out of the way by hand when that set of contacts is being used.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to pharmaceutical compositions having antiviral activity against Coronavirus, and more particularly against those viruses responsible for Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome (SARS). In a preferred embodiment it comprises a total standardized extract of a Scutellariae spp.
Abstract:
A continuous heat set line for setting yarn, having spaced-apart, elongate, tubular entrance and exit cooling chambers interconnected by an elongate intermediate steam heat-setting chamber communicating therewith. The entrance and exit cooling chambers and the intermediate heat-setting chamber collectively define a single longitudinally-extending axis along the combined length thereof. Sealing heads seal the entrance and exit cooling chambers and the intermediate heat-setting chamber to a degree sufficient to maintain a pressurized condition within the heat-setting chamber. A yarn conveyor extends through the pretreatment chamber for conveying the yarn through the entrance and exit cooling chambers and the heat-setting chamber in a position substantially equidistant or very nearly equidistant from top and bottom walls. At least one piston and cylinder assembly moves sealing rolls into and out of position relative to each other, while independently-operating springs urge the rolls together sufficiently to effect a seal.
Abstract:
A spa apparatus includes an internal support structure having a front end and a rear end; a basin coupled to the internal support structure proximate the front end, with the basin including a fluid circulation device; a seat removably coupled to the internal support structure, intermediate the basin and the rear end of the internal support structure; a shroud including at least a first and second panel removably coupled and supported by the internal support structure and configured to enclose a portion of the internal support structure; and an armrest coupled to the internal support structure on each side of the seat. Each armrest is configured to move from a first position to a second position independent of the position of the seat.
