Abstract:
A double-sided USB connector may include a first PCB that may provide a first set of electrical contacts on its first side and solder pads on its second side. The first PCB may further include a components side, solder pads, and signal traces. The double-sided USB connector may also include a second PCB that may provide a second set of electrical contacts on its first side and terminals on its second side. Contacts selected from the second set of contacts may be connected to selected terminals, for example through via paths in the second PCB. Contacts from the first and second sets of contacts may selectively be connected to components on the first PCB using signal traces rather than wires. The first PCB may be joined to the second PCB by using the terminals, and the two PCBs may be packaged using a common molded body.
Abstract:
A disk drive assembly for a server system includes a drive bracket (30), a disk drive (10), and a backboard (50). The drive bracket includes a top wall (31) and two parallel sidewalls (34) perpendicular to the top wall. The disk drive is received in the drive bracket between the two sidewalls. The disk drive has a port (15) defined therein. The backboard is secured to the drive bracket and perpendicular to the top wall and the sidewalls thereof. The backboard includes a main body (51) and a connecting member (53) detachably mounted on the main body. The connecting member is connected to the port of the disk drive and facilitates communication between the disk drive and the server system.

Abstract:
A sound-producing folding insert for a magazine is disclosed. A foldable support structure comprises a primary page and a secondary page. The secondary page is folded upon itself to form a pocket that retains a sound emitting means. The sound emitting means includes an electronic microchip sound generating device that includes a switch means connected at one end to a slidable tongue mechanism that is attached at the other end to the primary page, such that upon opening of the folding insert by separating the primary and secondary pages the slidable tongue mechanism allows the switch means to close, thereby activating the sound emitting means. Conversely, closing the folding insert brings the primary and secondary pages together forces the slidable tongue mechanism to open the switch means, and thereby deactivating the sounds emitting means. The sound emitting means is relatively flat and includes a generally flat speaker mounted to the secondary page. Generally flat button batteries are included to power the device when the sound emitting means is activated.
Abstract:
Devices and methods are provided for wireless communication with a target, such as an optical disc or an electronic device. The devices include an integrated processor and an antenna that are connected to the target, which enable a wireless communication with an associated reader or scanning system. The integrated circuit may be embedded in the target attached to the surface of the target, or in a label attached to the target. In a similar manner, the antenna may be embedded in the target, attached to the surface of the target, or in a label attached to the target. Interconnection lines may be used connect the integrated processor to the antenna, and may include a feedthrough arrangement for passing electrical signals between the surface and the interior of the target. A demodulator may also be positioned adjacent or on the antenna, allowing a long lead line to pass demodulated data to the integrated circuit. In one example, the antenna is positioned in or on a case that holds the target, with lead lines connecting the antenna to the target's integrated circuit. One, two, or three antennas may be used, with the multi-antenna arrangements preferably arranging the antennas orthogonally.
Abstract:
A card device has a generally rectangular body formed from flexible material and including electronic circuitry electrically connected to a set of electrical contacts. At least part of the card device is flexed, bent or folded in such a manner that the inherent resilience of the card material provides a force for pressing the set of contacts against the electrical contacts of a USB receptacle.
Abstract:
The sound effect CD cassette for receiving a CD has a combination of a control circuit, a speaker and a battery; the control circuit is provided with a sound playing switch and a sound effect chip for recording. The sound effect recorded in the chip is a specification of the content of the CD or is a segment of the record from the content of the CD; so that a consumer or user can directly activate the playing switch on the CD cassette, the speaker on the CD cassette can thereby play the sound effect, the user can understand the specification of the content of the CD packed in the CD cassette from the sound effect.
Abstract:
A disk box with a flashing circuit comprises a box seat, a positioning disk, and an upper cover. A circuit board with light emitting diodes and batteries are installed at a bottom side of the box seat. A lateral side and a flat portion at an end of a positioning disk are adhered with drawings. Thereby, by above structure, the positioning disk may cover the box seat, and then the upper cover covers the positioning disk so as to be formed as a disk box. Thereby, as the user presses the push button so that power of the battery flows to the circuit board to conduct the light emitting diodes, a flash effect will present to inform the user to keep attention.
Abstract:
A device for sending compact discs or like plate-shaped data carriers, comprising a storage box for the data carrier and a label, wherein the label preferably comprises at least an address field, the storage box being manufactured from plastic of high impact resistance and relatively high elasticity, such that the storage box is at least substantially unbreakable, the storage box comprising at least two box parts which are pivotable relative to each other and connected via pivot means, the label being designed for attachment on the storage box, such that the two box parts in closed condition are interconnected by the label, at a distance from the pivot means, the arrangement being such that a data carrier in the storage box can be locked between the box parts, whereupon the storage box can be closed off and sealed by the label, whereupon the box can be sent by mail, without further outer package, to an addressee stated on the label.
Abstract:
Optical arrangements are provided by which observers of flat containers or display boxes, such as compact disc (CD) jewel boxes, can be presented with different information when looking at one of the box's surfaces from different angular perspectives. Advantageously, parallax effects are compensated where the size of the observable images and the viewing distance create undesirable visual artifacts. Horizontally and vertically oriented lenticulated panels are used in combination with interlaced images to convey the differently coded views without the need for physically manipulating such boxes as in the past to see equivalent information. Printed informational inserts are provided with interlaced images and reference surfaces for alignment purposes which is achieved either with control of fit or via resiliently flexible arrangements for urging the inserts into positions of proper alignment. These arrangements enhance the possibilities for displaying more and different kinds of information on a given box or display surface area compared with conventional approaches and may be used to enhance the prospects for increasing sales of products and displaying sporting figures, celebrities, animation, graphics, textual messages, special visual effects, or the like.
