Abstract: Provided are an electronic device that performs ranging by using an ultra wide-band (UWB) communication scheme and an operation method of the electronic device. The operation method of the first electronic device includes transmitting a first ranging control message (RCM) comprising interval information to a second electronic device, determining a first time to transmit a second RCM based on the interval information, determining a first RCM timing window (RTW) based on the first time, transmitting the second RCM to the second electronic device in the first RTW, and transmitting a third RCM at a second time in a second RTW, based on a failure to receive a response message corresponding to the second RCM within a specific time period in the first RTW, wherein the second time is a random time point in the second RTW.

Abstract: The disclosure relates to a 5G or 6G communication system for supporting a higher data rate than a 4G communication system such as LTE. An embodiment of the disclosure provides a method and an apparatus for determining a scheme of accessing an ISD-R corresponding a profile management module in an eUICC in a terminal (a modem or an LPA) during terminal-card initialization. In addition, an embodiment of the disclosure provides a method for determining, by an LPA, a scheme of access an ISD-R to be used by the LPA, with reference to a scheme determined during terminal-card initialization or a pre-configured scheme, and transferring a message to an eUICC. In addition, an embodiment of the disclosure provides a method and an apparatus for configuring, by an LPA, different profile management messages according to determined ISD-R access schemes, and perform transferring through a selected ISD-R access scheme.

Abstract: A method and apparatus for providing a communication service by installing an eSIM profile even in a terminal to which an iSSP is applied. The method comprises: detecting whether information is input information for eSIM profile download input information from a terminal to which an iSSP is applied, and determining whether the terminal supports the same. Collecting eSIM bundle information of the iSSP by the terminal; selecting an eSIM bundle to be used by referring to a condition designated by the terminal from among the collected eSIM bundles; if there is no bundle to be used or when it is determined that no eSIM bundle is used among existing eSIM bundles, generating an eSIM bundle by the terminal itself or providing an eSIM bundle via communication with the terminal and a server; and on the basis of eSIM bundle information, downloading and installing an eSIM profile package.

The disclosure provides a method performed by a user equipment (UE) in a wireless communication system, the method comprising: receiving, by a modem from an embedded universal integrated circuit card (eUICC), a first message including at least one of information related to whether eUICC functionality is supported and information related to whether multiple enabled profiles (MEPs) are supported; and determining, by the modem, to operate with an MEP function based on at least one of the received information related to whether the eUICC functionality is supported and information related to whether the MEPs are supported. Further, various embodiments of the disclosure provide a method and device for providing a dual-SIM function even in a UE equipped with a single eUICC in a wireless communication system.
