Abstract: A method of driving a display panel includes dividing an input image into a plurality of segments, generating a flicker value of a segment of the plurality of segments, determining whether to compensate the flicker value of the segment or not according to a segment size, compensating the flicker value of the segment based on the segment size, determining a frame rate of the display panel based on the flicker value of the segment and outputting a data voltage to the display panel in the frame rate. The flicker value of the segment is compensated based on the flicker value of the segment and flicker values of segments that are adjacent to the segment.

The driving controller includes a still image determiner which divides the input image data into a plurality of still image determining blocks, respectively determines whether the still image determining blocks represent a still image or a video image and determines a boundary between the still image display area and the video image display area.

Abstract: An OLED display device includes display panel and a panel driver. The panel driver receives input image data at an input frame frequency and determines whether the input image data represent a still image. When the input image data do not represent the still image, the panel driver drives the display panel at a first output frame frequency substantially equal to the input frame frequency. When the input image data represent the still image, the panel driver drives the display panel at a second output frame frequency lower than the input frame frequency for a low frequency driving time and drives the display panel at a third output frame frequency higher than the second output frame frequency for a high frequency insertion time determined by one of a panel characteristic of the display panel and a representative gray level of the input image data, after the low frequency driving time.

Abstract: A display device includes a display panel including a pixel which receives a luminance control voltage, a driving controller which receives an input image signal and a control signal and provides an output image signal to the display panel, and a voltage generator which generates the luminance control voltage in response to a voltage control signal from the driving controller. The driving controller determines a current operating frequency based on the control signal, and outputs the voltage control signal based on a difference value between the current operating frequency and a previous operating frequency and an operating time of the previous operating frequency when the current operating frequency is different from the previous operating frequency, where the luminance control voltage is changed from a first voltage level to a second voltage level based on the voltage control signal.

Abstract: An electronic device includes a display panel which includes a plurality of pixels and displays an image at each of multiple frames, a driving circuit which drives the multiple frames at multiple operating frequencies, a voltage generator which provides a voltage to the display panel, and a drive controller. The drive controller includes a representative frequency calculator which calculates a representative frequency, based on operating frequencies of ‘n’ number of frames before one frame of the multiple frames, and a compensating signal calculator which outputs a compensating signal, based on the representative frequency and a count number in the one frame. The drive controller transmits the compensating signal to the voltage generator, the voltage includes a reference voltage, the voltage generator generates the reference voltage based on the compensating signal, and the voltage generator provides the reference voltage to each of the plurality of pixels.

The second scan driving circuit sequentially drives first scan lines among scan lines corresponding to the second display area during a first frame, and sequentially drives second scan lines among scan lines corresponding to the second display area during a second frame.
