    Abstract: A method and apparatus for processing augmented reality (AR) are disclosed. The method includes determining a compensation parameter to compensate for light attenuation of visual information caused by a display area of an AR device as the visual information corresponding to a target scene is displayed through the display area, generating a background image without the light attenuation by capturing the target scene using a camera of the AR device, generating a compensation image by reducing brightness of the background image using the compensation parameter, generating a virtual object image to be overlaid on the target scene, generating a display image by synthesizing the compensation image and the virtual object image, and displaying the display image in the display area.

    Abstract: A three-dimensional (3D) rendering method and apparatus to render a 3D scene is disclosed. The 3D rendering apparatus determines color values of vertices shaded by a direct virtual light source, establishes one or more locations of one or more indirect virtual light sources in polygonal areas formed by the vertices based on the determined color values of the vertices, and renders a 3D scene based on the one or more indirect virtual light sources disposed at the determined one or more locations.

    Abstract: A three-dimensional (3D) rendering method and apparatus is disclosed. The 3D rendering apparatus determines a vertex for a first shading from among vertices of a 3D model based on characteristic information of the 3D model, performs the first shading on the determined vertex, determines a pixel area for a second shading based on reference information indicating whether the first shading is applied to at least one vertex comprising the pixel area, performs the second shading on the determined pixel area, and generates a rendered image based on the first shading and the second shading.

    Abstract: A processor-implemented method includes: determining albedo data in a canonical space and depth data in the canonical space based on input image data including an object, using one or more neural network-based extraction models; generating deformed albedo data and deformed depth data by applying a target shape deformation value respectively to the albedo data and the depth data; generating resultant shaded data by performing shading based on the deformed depth data and a target illumination value; generating intermediate image data based on the resultant shaded data and the deformed albedo data; and generating reconstructed image data from the intermediate image data and the deformed depth data based on a target pose value.
