Abstract:
A method and a portable terminal for identifying a counterfeit bill. The method includes receiving, by the portable terminal, an image of a bill photographed using visible rays and an image of the bill photographed using infrared rays; determining a denomination of the bill by comparing the image photographed using the visible rays with a denomination database; obtaining correction information using the image photographed using the visible rays and a corresponding bill image in the denomination database; forming a corrected image by correcting the image photographed using the infrared rays using the correction information; and determining whether the bill is counterfeit by comparing the corrected image with an image of the corresponding bill pre-stored in a genuine bill database.
Abstract:
An apparatus and method for encoding an image file is provided. The method includes generating an animation object according to a user input; generating animation data including the animation object; generating image data that is reproducible independently from the animation data; generating an integrated image file, which includes the image data and the animation data; and storing the generated integrated image file in a memory.
Abstract:
A method including generating position information and time information of a handwriting inputted on a device; generating pixel values of an image capturing the handwriting; generating an image file for facilitating a sequential reproduction of the handwriting by storing the position information and the time information of the handwriting in a first field of the image file and storing the pixel values in a second field of the image file; and transmitting the generated image file to another device.

Abstract:
Apparatuses and methods are provided for executing a function corresponding to a handwritten user input at the same time as providing a handwritten unlock command on a lock screen of an electronic device. The apparatus includes a touch screen that displays a lock screen including a first layer for unlocking the lock screen and a second layer that is laid over the first layer, and a controller that verifies that an unlock command is the same as a predetermined unlock command in response to the unlock command being input to the first layer, to display the second layer in response to the unlock command being the same as the predetermined unlock command, and to search for a command corresponding to a handwritten user input that is input to the second layer to execute the command.
Abstract:
An apparatus for reproducing an image file and outputting audio data related to the image file at the same time is provided. The apparatus includes an audio editor configured to edit audio data having a predetermined time length in order to create edited audio data, and an encoder in configured to encode image data and the audio data edited by the audio editor in order to create a live picture file, wherein the live picture file includes at least one of an image data area including the image data, additional data header area including information related to additional data including the audio data, and an audio data area including the edited audio data.
Abstract:
A method is provided for automatically adjusting a size of characters using a camera. The method includes receiving an image with characters; adjusting a focus of the image with characters and detecting a region and a size of characters in the image; determining whether the size of the characters in the image falls within a preset range; recognizing the characters in the image and displaying the recognition results, if the size of the characters falls within the preset range; and automatically adjusting a zoom ratio of the image and recognizing the characters in the resized image, if the size of the characters does not fall within the preset range.
