摘要: A retroreflectivity measurement system comprises a light source arranged to project light across a traffic lane during a measurement run, the light being limited to a particular portion of the visible light spectrum. A camera is selectively sensitive to this light to provide first filtered images and separately selectively sensitive to light at a portion of the spectrum not including the particular portion to provide second filtered images. A controller obtains sequences of first and second filtered images during the measurement run, and identifies within the sequences of images an illuminated road marking; determines a first intensity of the marking from a first filtered image, and a further intensity of the marking from the second filtered images; estimates an ambient intensity of the marking, by applying a scaling factor to the further intensity; and determines a retroreflectivity of the marking as a function of the first and estimated ambient intensities.

摘要: A sensor may measure light reflecting from a multi-layered object at different times. A digital time-domain signal may encode the measurements. Peaks in the signal may be identified. Each identified peak may correspond to a layer in the object. For each identified peak, a short time window may be selected, such that the time window includes a time at which the identified peak occurs. A discrete Fourier transform of that window of the signal may be computed. A frequency frame may be computed for each frequency in a set of frequencies in the transform. Kurtosis for each frequency frame may be computed. A set of high kurtosis frequency frames may be averaged, on a pixel-by-pixel basis, to produce a frequency image. Text characters that are printed on a layer of the object may be recognized in the frequency image, even though the layer is occluded.

摘要: Aircraft system and method detecting and present information relating to adverse airborne phenomena along an aircraft flight route. An imaging unit that includes an IR detector and a tunable spectral filter acquires IR images of the external environment, by acquiring wideband IR images when operating in a second mode. A data analysis unit detects and determines characteristics of adverse airborne phenomena in the environment based on at least the spectral signatures of environmental features in the acquired narrowband IR images. A display unit dynamically displays a visual representation of the detected adverse airborne phenomenon and its determined characteristics, overlaid onto a view of the external environment displayed to an operator of the aircraft. The visual representation may include variable visual attributes representing respective categories of characteristics of the detected adverse airborne phenomenon.

摘要: An object detection system and method detect objects by projecting an infrared (IR) pattern from an IR emitter and capturing images with respective cameras that each includes an IR channel (e.g., a near IR channel) and one or more visible channels (e.g., red, green, and blue). The object detection system may detect, in the IR channels of the captured images, illumination features (e.g., points, lines, or shapes of IR illumination) from the IR pattern and may also detect objects in the visible channels of the images. The object detection sensor may estimate locations for the objects based on detected illumination features incident upon each object. The object detection system may be part of an aerial vehicle and may be used for autonomous or semi-autonomous flight planning.

A face image is recognized from the infrared light image, and images of respective organs are extracted from the face image. The images of the respective organs are corrected in accordance with each extracted organ, using the visible light image and the infrared light image. The corrected images of the respective organs are combined. The present disclosure can be applied to smartphones.

The present application provides a method for controlling a smart device comprising the steps of: measuring a distance from the smart device to the object for measuring the temperature of the object; if the measurement range of the temperature sensor at the measured position is not placed within the object, notifying a user that the temperature of the object cannot be measured; and directing the user to place the measurement range within the object.

In one example, a method for identifying a false representation of a human face includes receiving one or more data streams captured by one or more sensors sensing a candidate face. In a plurality of stages that each comprises a different analysis, one or more of the data streams are analyzed, and the stages comprise determining whether a plurality of candidate face depth points lies on a single flat plane or a curving plane. Based at least in part on determining that the plurality of candidate face depth points lies on the single flat plane, an indication of the false representation of the human face is outputted.

摘要: Apparatus and associated methods relate to using an image of a fiducial located indicating a parking location for the aircraft to provide docking guidance data to a pilot of an aircraft. The fiducial has vertically-separated indicia and laterally-separated indicia. A camera is configured to mount at a camera location so as to be able to capture two-dimensional images of a scene external to the aircraft. The two-dimensional image includes pixel data generated by the two-dimensional array of light-sensitive pixels. A digital processor identifies first and second sets of pixel coordinates corresponding to the two vertically-separated and the two laterally-separated indicia, respectively. The digital processor then calculates, based at least in part on the identified first pixel coordinates corresponding to the two vertically-separated indicia, a range to the parking location.
