Abstract:
A miniature LED flashlight is provided having a battery with opposing surfaces of opposite polarity and an LED having two leads extending therefrom, the battery and the LED received within a molded lower panel. A adapted to press fit with the lower panel in simultaneous contact with the frame creates a flashlight that is readily opened to interchange and replace component parts. The upper panel also has an upper surface, a side and an aperture extending through the upper surface. The side of the upper surface has a notch receive a lever for detaching the upper panel. Transverse finger pressure on the aperture urges the LED leads into contact with the opposing surfaces of the battery thereby illuminating the LED. A dual mode switch is also provided to slide within the aperture. The resulting flashlight may exist as a self-contained variety of outer housing structures.
Abstract:
A head gimbal assembly may comprise a slider, a micro-actuator attached to the slider, a flexure to mount the slider and the micro-actuator, and a suspension comprising a support region, a main portion, and a moving portion, wherein the flexure comprises a plurality of trace sets to electrically couple the micro-actuator and the slider, and wherein the plurality of trace sets are laminated generally parallel to each other.
Abstract:
Aspects of the present invention include a system and method for improving the reliability performance of hard disk drives by routing the traces connected to the slider from the trailing edge to the leading edge and having a portion of the traces being under the magnetic slider. Aspects of the present invention can also include routing the traces in a manner that lessens the stress experienced during vibration or shock events.
Abstract:
A light emitting diode fan pen is provided that includes a rotatable fan leaf that is coupled to an electric motor. A circuit board is also rotatably coupled to the fan leaf and electric motor. At least one light emitting diode in electrical communication with the circuit board is visible on the fan leaf. A battery producing a voltage sufficient to energize the motor, and a switch for selectively forming an electrical circuit is provided. A housing at least partially encompassing the motor and the switch has an apical end at which the motor is located. An ink reservoir is within the housing. A voltage step-up circuit is provided on the circuit board to receive a voltage output from the battery step-up voltage produced by the step-up subcircuit to power the at least one light emitting diode. A multimode switch is provided to provide a user with various fan operational modes.
Abstract:
A display package for a flashlight includes a shell having a transparent display surface, a sidewall and a backing that together define a package interior volume. The package volume encloses at least the light source portion of a flashlight in a preselected orientation. A reflector is affixed to the shell to receive light emission from the flashlight light source so a potential consumer can evaluate flashlight illumination.
Abstract:
A light assembly includes an electrically powered light source, a hand-powered electric dynamo and a rechargeable battery. The hand-powered electric dynamo has the capability to power the light source and recharge the battery. A fastener is used to detachably mount the light source, dynamo and battery to the user. In providing the user with a detachably mounted light assembly having the capability to recharge the batteries thereon, a more reliable light source is provided for the user working under extreme and often dangerous conditions.
Abstract:
A liquid dispensing container includes a transparent or translucent vial. A base is secured to the vial and contains a light source and a battery source. The light source being monochromatic or outputting multiple colors in sequence. A switch is provided for selectively forming electrical engagement between the light source and the battery source. A printed circuit board interspersed between the light source and the battery source affords optional subcircuits including a timer, step-up voltage, or step-down voltage capabilities, or light source output color modulation.
Abstract:
A dynamic angle computer monitor automatically adjusts the angle of a computer display relative to a supporting base. A drive element operates to urge the display through an angle relative to the base about an intermediate joint.
Abstract:
An antenna for a portable telephone is angled rearward relative to a plane defined by the earpiece face. The antenna is durable owing to the fixed position and decreases user exposure to electromagnetic radiation. The rearward angle of the antenna is between and 10 and 80°.
