    摘要: The present invention provides an optical recording medium and an optical disk device realizing prevention of crosswrite and uniformity of playback signals and capable of easily securing compatibility with a read only disk. It provides an optical recording medium on which light LB condensed by a lens (12, 14) having a numerical aperture of 0.85±0.1 and a wavelength of 405±5 nm is focused for recording or playback, having a substrate 1 formed with a groove 2 in its surface, an optical recording layer 3 formed on the substrate and having topography corresponding to the groove, and a light transmission type protection layer 4 formed on the optical recording layer; used when light for recording or playback is focused from the protection layer side to the optical recording layer; using as a recording area only the optical recording layer of one of a side far from the emitting side of the light for recording or playback, that is, a portion corresponding to a recessed portion of the topography, and a side close to it, that is, a portion corresponding to a projecting portion; having a track pitch of 0.32±0.01 μm; and having a depth D2 of a recessed portion with respect to a projecting portion in the range of 19 to 24 nm.

    摘要: Constructed is an optical recording medium which is so formed as to have excellent surface flatness and with respect to which information is recorded or reproduced with the use of a near-field optical system. The optical recording medium is one which performs at least one of recording and reproduction of information by irradiation of light. The optical recording medium has a substrate 1 which has fine concavities and convexities 2 formed on the surface on a side where irradiation of light is performed, and a formed film layer having at least a recording layer and having a fine concavities and convexities surface reflecting the fine concavities and convexities 2 in itself. The optical recording medium also has a light transmission flattenable film 4 which is so formed on the formed film layer as to have the fine concavities and convexities surface buried therein, and the surface of which is polished and which has a single-layer or a multi-layer structure having a hardness enabling the film to be polished, has a transmission characteristic with respect to the irradiated light to thereby permits transmission of a light irradiated with respect to this optical recording medium.

    摘要: A focus controller for focusing a light beam and positioning the focused light beam onto a signal recording layer of a signal recording media is disclosed. The controller comprises a light beam focusing means having a numerical aperture of 0.6 or more; a focus controlling means for positioning the light beam focused by the light beam focusing means onto the signal recording layer of the recording media; and an offset adjusting means for adjusting an offset between the focused light beam positioned by the focus controlling means and the signal recording layer of the recording media. The controller positions the light beam focused by an objective lens onto the signal recording layer of a recording media; moves the objective lens within a predetermined optical-axial range, detects an amplitude of a signal read from the recording media at either end of the optical-axial range, and adjusts an offset between the focused light beam positioned by the objective lens and the signal recording layer, depending on a difference between the amplitudes of the detected reproduced signal.

    摘要: An optical recording medium recording and reproducing apparatus for recording information on an optical recording medium and/or reproducing information therefrom by irradiating the optical recording medium with laser light by the use of a two-group objective lens composed of at least first and second lenses. This apparatus is provided with: a light source for emitting laser light; a first lens for converging laser light emitted from the light source; a second lens interposed between the first lens and the optical recording medium; a detecting unit for detecting a kind of the recording medium; and a movement unit for changing the distance in the direction of an optical axis between the first and second lenses by causing a relative movement between the first and second lenses. Further, the distance between the first and second lenses is changed by the movement unit, which causes the second lens to move, according to a result of a detection, which is performed by the detecting unit. Thereby, the numerical aperture NA of the objective lens is increased. Moreover, the influence of aberration is mitigated. Consequently, the high-density recording and reproducing of information signals can be achieved.

    摘要: There is provided an optical pick-up device capable of eliminating a spherical aberration due to a thickness error of an optical disc. The optical pick-up device includes a convex lens having a flat surface opposed to a surface of an optical recording medium, and having a predetermined refractive index, and an objective lens disposed such that the convex lens is interposed between said optical recording medium and the objective lens. A position-detecting means detects a position relation between the light-incident surface of the optical recording medium and the flat surface of the convex lens, based on first and second detection signals. A drive means drives the convex lens along an optical axis thereof such that the convex lens is caused to move in the opposite directions toward the optical recording medium or the objective lens, whereby a distance between the light-incident surface of the optical recording medium and the flat surface of the convex lens is controlled based on the first and second detection signals.
