摘要: A composition comprising a first compound capable of functioning as a phosphorescent emitter in an organic light emitting device at room temperature is provided. The first compound includes at least one substituent R, where each of the at least one substituent R has the formula of: - - -G1-G2, where the dashed line denotes the bond through which R is attached in the first compound; G1 is a non-aromatic cyclic or polycyclic group; G2 is selected from aryl and heteroaryl; and G1 and G2 are independently, optionally further substituted with a substituent selected from the group consisting of hydrogen, deuterium, halide, alkyl, cycloalkyl, heteroalkyl, arylalkyl, alkoxy, aryloxy, amino, silyl, alkenyl, cycloalkenyl, heteroalkenyl, alkynyl, aryl, heteroaryl, acyl, carbonyl, carboxylic acids, ester, nitrile, isonitrile, sulfanyl, sulfinyl, sulfonyl, phosphino, and combinations thereof. Organic light emitting devices, consumer products, and formulations containing the first compound are also provided.

These compounds may demonstrate high photoluminescent (PL) efficiency, Gaussian emission spectra, and/or short excited state lifetimes. These materials may be especially useful as blue phosphorescent emitters.

摘要: A compound having a structure according Formula Ir(LA)n(LB)3−n: is described. In the structure of Formula Ir(LA)n(LB)3−n: A1, A2, A3, A4, A5, A6, A7, and A8 are each carbon or nitrogen; at least one of A1, A2, A3, A4, A5, A6, A7, and A8 is nitrogen; ring B is bonded to ring A through a C—C bond; the iridium is bonded to ring A through an Ir—C bond; X is O, S, or Se; R1, R2, R3, and R4 each independently represent no substitutions up to the maximum possible substitutions; any adjacent substitutions in R1, R2, R3, and R4 are optionally linked together to form a ring; each R1, R2, R3, R4, and R5 is independently selected from a variety of substituents; and n is an integer from 1 to 2. Formulations and devices, such as an OLEDs, that include the compound of Formula Ir(LA)n(LB)3−n are also described.

摘要: Imidazo[1,2-f]phenanthridine compounds are provided. The compounds have a twisted aryl moiety further substituted by alkyl having four or more atoms. The compounds may be used in organic light emitting devices, particularly as emissive dopants, providing devices with improved efficiency, stability, and manufacturing. In particular, the compounds provided herein may be used in blue devices having high efficiency.

摘要: A composition including a first compound capable of functioning as a phosphorescent emitter in an OLED is provided. The first compound has at least one aromatic ring and at least one substituent R directly bonded to one of the at least one aromatic rings. Each substituent R has the formula of where (a) G1 is selected from NR1, SiR1R2, GeR1R2, alkyl, cycloalkyl, and combinations thereof; and G2 is a non-aromatic polycyclic group; (b) G1 is a direct bond; and G2 is a non-aromatic spiro polycyclic group; or (c) G1 is selected from direct bond, NR1, SiR1R2, GeR1R2, alkyl, cycloalkyl, and combinations thereof; G2 is a non-aromatic polycyclic group; and R is directly bonded to a phenyl, pyridine, or triazine. R1, R2, and R3 are a variety of substituents. Formulations and devices, such as an OLEDs, that include the first compound are also described.

摘要: A compound that includes a ligand L, having the formula, is provided. In the structure of Formula I, each R1, R2, R3, R4, R4, R5, R6, R7, and R8 is independently selected from a variety of substituents; any adjacent substituents are optionally joined or fused into a ring; at least one of R3, R4, and R5 is not hydrogen; “a” is an integer from 0 to 10; (i) when a is 0, at least one of R7, R8, and an R2 adjacent to ring B, is not hydrogen, and (ii) when a is 1 to 10, at least one of an R2 adjacent to ring A and an R6 adjacent to ring C is not hydrogen; ligand L is coordinated to a metal M having an atomic weight greater than 40; and ligand L is optionally linked with other ligands to comprise a tridentate, tetradentate, pentadentate or hexadentate ligand.
