    Abstract: A device receives performance profiles associated with multiple available distributed units (DUs) of a wireless station, where each of the performance profiles is based on at least one of a network slice or a quality of service (QoS) handled by each respective DU of the multiple available DUs. The device selects a first DU of the multiple available DUs based on the performance profiles, obtains a user equipment's (UE's) user profile and a network performance requirement of the application associated with transport involving the UE, and selects a first user plane function of multiple distributed user plane functions for transport along a first transport path, that includes the selected DU, based on the user profile and the network performance requirements of the application. The device initiates data transport involving the UE via the selected first DU and the selected first user plane function, over the first transport path.

    Abstract: A system and method provide for receiving an indication that a user device has been inactive; accessing a configuration table; identifying, based on the configuration table, a number of user devices that can be in an RRC inactive state; determining a current number of user devices that are in the RRC inactive state; transitioning the user device to the RRC inactive state when the current number of user devices is less than the threshold number of user devices; determining a priority associated with the user device when the current number equals the threshold number; and transitioning the user device to the RRC inactive state or an RRC idle state based on the priority of the user device.

    Abstract: A method may include receiving, at a wireless station, device capability information associated with a number of user equipment (UE) devices and determining, by the wireless station, uplink and downlink configurations for a number of carriers associated with the wireless station. The method may also include configuring uplink and downlink time slots for each of the carriers based on the determined uplink and downlink configurations and modifying the uplink and downlink configurations for at least some of the carriers over time based on data usage or congestion associated with the at least some of the plurality of carriers.

    Abstract: Systems and methods described herein provide a multi-access edge computing (MEC) prediction service. A network device in a MEC network receives a predicted MEC route for an end device executing an application instance. The predicted MEC route identifies a projected time when the end device will connect to the network device for services and a service requirement for the application instance. The network device reserves resources to service the application instance at the projected time, based on the predicted MEC route. The network device provides a computing service for the application instance using the reserved resources when the end device initiates a data session with the network device.
