    摘要: The present invention discloses a spring clip made of a directionally solidified nickel-base superalloy for use in a high pressure compressor stator sub-assembly of a gas turbine engine. The spring clip includes a body section and a pair of arms integrally connected to opposing sides of the body section and the spring clip is used as a means for attaching circumferentially segmented flowpath liners to an annular casing. Each arm of the spring clips exerts a spring force against a flowpath liner mount lug causing the mount lug to be seated radially against an inner surface of the casing and axially against an annular seal, wherein the pair of arms of each spring clip engage mount lugs located on circumferentially adjacent ones of the flowpath liners. The spring clip material has a relatively low modulus of elasticity in a direction which is generally parallel to a longitudinal axis of the spring clip, and to the base surface of the spring clip arms, and a relatively high modulus of elasticity in a direction which is parallel to the centerlines of the holes used to fixedly connect the body sections of the spring clips to the casing. Accordingly, the spring clip of the present invention has a smaller size and reduced weight, as compared to a clip made of a conventional equiax nickel-base superalloy, with no loss in preload capability of the fasteners used to attach the body sections of the clips to the casing.

    摘要: A split ring seal having an outer split ring and an inner split ring with the inner and outer split rings having overlapping portions. The split ring seal is located between a seating seal and a carrier and separates a high pressure cavity from a low pressure cavity. Movement of the split ring seal is restricted by sidewalls of the carrier. A diagonal edge on the outer ring reacts against centrifugal loading from the inner ring so that said outer ring is urged axially against a sidewall of the carrier to form a positive seal for blocking any leakage path between the high and low pressure cavities.

    摘要: A tube fitting for use with a flammable fluid is disposed in an auto-ignition zone of a gas turbine engine. The tube fitting has a pair of separable casings defining a passage to accommodate flow therethrough of the flammable fluid, and the casings have a pair of seals associated in sealing engagement with each other to seal about the passage. A restriction is arranged in one of the casings for limiting at least to a preselected flow rate any leakage flow of the flammable fluid from the passage past the seals upon an interruption in the sealing engagement thereof in the event of the occurrence of the separation of the casing.

    摘要: A rotor assembly for supporting rotor blades includes a plurality of axially adjoining discrete disks each having a rim, web, and hub. The rims include axial dovetail grooves for collectively supporting a respective blade dovetail therein. Each of the disks includes at least one axially extending annular arm joined integrally with the disk and fixedly joined to an adjacent one of the arms. The disks are fixedly joined together solely by the blade dovetails in the rim dovetail grooves and by the arms so that upon a crack failure of one of the disks, centrifugal load from the failed disk is transferred to an adjacent disk.
