摘要： An image forming apparatus includes: a main body; an image forming unit including a plurality of photosensitive drums on which electrostatic latent images are formed, respectively; a sheet storing unit detachably attached to the main body and configured to store a recording sheet, and the sheet storing unit being disposed in a first space defined in the main body when the sheet storing unit is attached to the main body; and a belt unit disposed between the plurality of photosensitive drums and the sheet storing unit and including a belt opposing the plurality of photosensitive drums. The belt unit is detachable from the main body through the first space in a state in which at least a part of the sheet storing unit is positioned outside the main body.

The cover is configured to pivot around a pivot axis to open and close the opening. The cover includes a pressing portion. The pressing portion is configured to, when the cover is closing the opening, contact the process cartridge being attached inside the casing and press the process cartridge toward an attachment position in which the process cartridge is attached to the casing. A path of the pressing portion in the casing is substantially same as a shape of the particular guide as viewed from an axial direction of the pivot axis.

摘要： An image forming apparatus includes an apparatus body, an image forming unit, and a retransporting unit. The retransporting unit includes a transporting roller for applying a transporting force to the sheet and an input portion disposed at a position shifted upstream of the transporting roller in a retransporting direction. The input portion is configured to receive an input of a drive force supplied from the apparatus body. The retransporting unit further includes a drive shaft extending in a retransporting direction. The drive shaft is configured to transmit the drive force from the input portion toward the transporting roller by rotating about an axis thereof. A height of the image forming apparatus may be reduced by this configuration.

The drive switching assembly includes a second driving source, a cam, a slider member, a switching gear, switching position detected portions, and a detector. The detected portions are disposed at the cam so as to correspond to switching positions of the liquid feed pumps. One of the detected portions has a greater width in a rotation direction of the cam than any other detected portion. When a time from when the detector detects one of the detected portions to when the detector detects another one of the detected portions is shorter than a threshold value, the drive control unit determines, as a home position, a position of the cam on detection of the another one with the detector.

The sheet cassette has a pair of lateral walls, a first engagement portion, and a first joint portion. Space enclosed by the first engagement portion, the first joint portion, and an outer surface of one of the lateral walls is exposed toward an installation side, from which the sheet cassette is installed in the image forming apparatus. The pair of frames has a second engagement portion and a second joint portion. Space enclosed by the second engagement portion, the second joint portion, and an inner surface of the one of the frames is exposed toward a side opposite from the installation side. When the sheet cassette is in an operable position, the first engagement portion is placed in an engagement position to be engaged with the second engagement portion.
