Liquid containing magnetic powder is caused to flow into the tank and along the underside of the magnet plate, and then it flows along the upper surface of the magnet plate. The magnetic powder is attracted to the upper and lower surface of the magnet plate and is collected by a scraper and fed outside the tank.

    摘要: Apparatus for removing solids from a settling pit or tank is disclosed which comprises a horizontal collector section that rests at the bottom of the tank and an attached vertical conveyor or elevator section having an upper, discharge end above the tank. Carrier means is employed for conveying settled solids across the floor of the collector section and upwardly within the elevator section for discharge into a receiving container located outside the tank. The collector section includes a distributor means whereby settling solids are distributed over the floor thereof at a desired rate, thereby preventing overloading of the carrier means during peak or slug loading conditions so that removal of solids from the tank at a desired rate remains smooth and unhampered.

    摘要: This invention relates to a skimming blade for use in a liquid clarification tank which has a plurality of longitudinally extending weir boxes that define the outlet for receiving clarifying liquid. The skimming blade is supported on a bridge that is reciprocated above the tank along a path parallel to the direction of flow of liquid within the tank and has cutouts extending from the lower edge with the cutouts having bases located above the lower edge of the blade. The skimming blade is maintained in a first skimming position where the bases of the cutouts are above the liquid level while the bridge is traversing the box area of the tank and a second skimming position where the bases of the cutouts and the lower edge of the blade are located below the liquid level.

    摘要: An apparatus for extracting sludge from a rectangular sewage flotation tank comprises a bridge structure having rotatably mounted thereon a horizontal drum driven for rotation and provided with suitably shaped vanes, the direction of rotation of the drum and vane assembly being such that at the point of contact thereof with the scraped surface the direction of its velocity vector is opposed to the direction of travel of the bridge structure. The bridge structure also includes a suitably shaped scraper blade pushing the sludge continuously towards the front of the movable vanes of the drum, whereby the extracted sludge is fed to a discharge device mounted inside the tubular shaft of the drum and provided with means for directing the sludge into a container secured to the bridge.

[Also in Division E1] A sewage settling tank comprises a clear water overflow 18, means 22 for removing deposited sludge and, for removing the less dense fraction, and a pipe 34 having its inlet movable near the tank bottom and feeding a syphon 35-37. The syphon contains air, to allow the suction effect to be controlled. A bridge 28 rotates in the tank and carries scraper/eductor elements 29 (see Fig. 5). The scraper blades 30 are concave and carry flexible flaps 31 which push the densest sludge into sump 13 to be withdrawn whenever an automatic valve 23 is actuated. The eductor inlets 33 are at such a height as to suck away the lighter sludge. The suction rate is controlled by letting air into the syphons by means of a balanced valve arrangement controlled by a fluid pressure line (51) (see Division E1 and Figs. 3, 4 (not shown)), thereby partially "spoiling" the syphoning effect. The syphons discharge into a basin 19 having an outlet channel 20. Should a syphon become choked, all the other syphons are shut off, and the resulting fall in the level in basin 19 produces an increased pressure drop so as to clear the blockage.
