    摘要： A feed distribution system for feeding slurry to a fluidized bed reactor through a plurality of feed guns placed around the periphery of the reactor. The feed distribution system includes a feed distribution tank and having no mechanically moving parts located above the reactor. The tank is divided by baffles into essentially two concentric zones, namely an inner zone which serves as a feed reservoir and an outer zone which is further subdivided into individual compartments and serves to feed slurry at a steady rate to said feed guns. Also disclosed is a process utilizing said feed distribution system.

    摘要： A partially concentrated spent liquor is introduced into a venturi-type scrubber-evaporator along with combustion gases containing entrained solids from a fluidized bed reactor. From the scrubber-evaporator, the combustion gases are removed with a cyclone separator and the remaining concentrated spent liquor and entrained solids are passed through a comminuting device. Preferably the comminution device is a comminution pump. The comminution device grinds the entrained solids into very fine particles by continuous recycling. The resulting concentrated spend liquor containing finely ground solids can be partially recycled to the venturi-type scrubber-evaporator by mixing a portion of the fine solid containing liquor with the original spent liquor feed to the venturi. The amount of solids fed to the venturi-type scrubber-evaporator can be controlled by varying the amount of find solid containing liquor feed. The remainder of the fine solid containing concentrated spent liquor is fed to the fluidized bed oxidation reactor whereby an ash bed product can be treated for chemical recovery without the problem of scrubberevaportor shutdowns due to large solid particles.

    摘要： A treatment system for the beneficiation of phosphate rock, wherein a first treatment section effects the beneficiation proper producing the coarse and the fine concentrates of phosphate rock separated from the impurities, while a second section handles the disposal of the separated waste material in the form of large volumes of the primary and secondary slimes. The invention minimizes or eliminates the need for large and objectionable lagoon areas to receive the slimes, in that it solves the disposal problem by the provision of a stagewise thickening operation for the slimes, conducted to produce a highdensity mixed sludge that is readily disposable, while large volumes of process water are recovered instead of being lost by evaporation from the lagoons.

    摘要： Sewage sludge is pressure cooked by heat exchange to 350-400* F. at a pressure sufficient to prevent evaporation for approximately 30 minutes to free bound cell water. The freed water is decanted and the remaining sludge is dewatered by centrifuge or filter to a very dry cake having a solids content of 35 to 75 percent. The cake is continuously fed to a fluidized bed combustion chamber for autogenous combustion wherein the sludge is reduced to inert burned exhaust gases and finely divided ash entrained with the gases. The dry cake readily crumbles into small pieces and may be screw fed or milled and blown into the combustion chamber. The high solids content, crumbly nature and nonordorous character of the cake simplifies feeding requires no auxiliary fuel after start up, or preheating of combustion air and decreases the size and capital cost of the combustion reactor.
