摘要: The present invention provides a method (20) of separating pulp from a feed material within a tank (1), the method comprising the steps of (23) introducing the feed material (22) into the tank (1); (24) allowing the feed material (22) to settle in the tank (1); (25) allowing the pulp (21) to form into aggregates (13); (26) allowing the pulp aggregates (13) to settle towards the bottom of the tank (1) and form a networked layer (2) of pulp; and (27) causing a disturbance substantially uniformly across a disturbance zone (16) in an upper region of the networked layer (2), so as to disrupt the networked pulp in the disturbance zone within a predetermined period of time; thereby releasing entrained liquid from the networked pulp in the disturbance zone (16) and increasing the relative density of the pulp below the disturbance zone. The invention also provides a separation device (40) for separating pulp (21) from a feed material (22).

摘要: The circular clarifier cleaning system includes a mainframe to which all various components are attached for the prevention of growth and accumulation of the algae and debris. The components within the system include gravity-driven, horizontal and vertical sweeping chains. The outer trough wall, V-notch weirs, baffle plate wall, and inner baffle plate wall are all cleaned utilizing a rotating chain system device. Two main drag chains are used to clean the effluent trough and the overflow in the overflow wall after the V-notch weirs. An individual chain is utilized as a “garland” to clean to the V-notch weirs at the overflow. The circular clarifier cleaning system is driven by an existing skimmer arm found on all secondary clarifiers.

摘要: A grit removal system for tanks with a need to remove settled solids (e.g., anaerobic digester tank) is described. The system is especially suitable for a large tank, preferably having a flat floor, and it works well while submerged under a liquid. Specifically, a periphery-driven rack & pinion mechanism drives a shaft to rotate about a center pivot, and scrapes settled solids towards tank periphery, where the solids fall into a pit on the tank floor. A drainage opening inside the pit, when opened by a valve, is used to flush out the solids through a standpipe into a settlement tank for final dewatering and solid disposal. The system is compatible for continuous tank operation, and is useful for stirring tanks requiring periodic sediment removal.

摘要: A tank adapted to be used for suspending separation media slurry before transferring the separation media slurry to a column or a container comprises: an impeller (7) adapted to rotate in order to mix the media slurry, a nozzle (9) provided protruding into the tank from the bottom (8) thereof, and an adjustable pipe (5) having an open end (6) positioned in the tank and which can be adjusted in position. The nozzle (9) and the adjustable pipe (5) are adapted to be connected to a pump (3) adapted to pump liquid from the adjustable pipe (5) when the open end (6) of the adjustable pipe (5) has been positioned in an uppermost liquid phase provided in the tank when the media slurry has started to sediment and pump the liquid, possibly containing a small amount of media, through the nozzle (9) back into the tank from the tank bottom (8) in order to start re-suspending media that has sedimented in the tank.

摘要: Apparatus for simultaneously taking up and paying out first and second ends of respective first and second cables is provided for traversing a carriage in a clarifier basin. Each of the cables has the same active length. A reel has a cylindrical drum, opposite ends, and a pair of cable retainers. One of the retainers is adjacent to one of the opposite ends and on a first diametric side of the drum. The other of the retainers is adjacent to the other of the opposite ends and on a second or opposite diametric side of the drum. The second diametric side is opposite to the first diametric side. In a method of the invention, the first end of the first cable is secured to the one retainer the drum is adapted to receive all of the active length of the first cable in one layer thereon or all of said active length of the second cable in one layer thereon or a wound portion of the active length of each of the cables in one layer thereon, with the wound one layer portions sharing the drum in side-by-side relation. The method winds the active length of the first cable completely onto the drum and then the second cable is secured to the other retainer. The drum is then rotated to pay out the first cable and take up the second cable and traverse the carriage in the basin.
