摘要: A lateral partition of a side airbag apparatus extends in a front-rear direction to divide the interior of an airbag into an upper inflation chamber and a lower inflation chamber. A vertical partition extends vertically and includes a communication portion. The vertical partition divides the upper inflation chamber into an upper-rear inflation chamber, to which inflation gas from a gas generator is supplied, and an upper-front inflation chamber, to which the inflation gas is supplied via the communication portion. An inner tube regulates the flow of the inflation gas to direct to the upper-rear inflation chamber and the lower inflation chamber. The rear ends of two first fabric portions of the vertical partition are joined to the upper parts of the front ends of two second fabric portions of the inner tube by a first vertical joint portion.

摘要: An airbag includes an outer shell defining an interior of the airbag, and a divider positioned in the interior so as to divide the interior into a first chamber and a second chamber. A valve mechanism is operatively coupled to the divider. The valve mechanism includes an opening enabling fluid communication between the first and second chambers, and a flap positioned in the second chamber overlying the opening. The flap is structured to deflect in a direction away from the opening responsive to a pressure differential urging a flow of gas from the first chamber through the opening into the second chamber. The flap is also structured to block the opening responsive to a reverse pressure differential urging a flow of gas from the second chamber through the opening into the first chamber. The flap includes at least one attachment edge along which the flap is attached to the divider and at least one non-attachment edge along which the flap is not attached to the divider. The valve is structured such that at least a predetermined minimum distance between the at least one non-attachment edge and an edge of the opening is maintained during application of the reverse pressure differential to the flap.

摘要: A far side airbag device for a vehicle includes: an inflator disposed within a side support portion at a vehicle transverse direction central side of a seat back; an airbag that is stored within the side support portion, that receives a supply of gas from the inflator, and that expands and deploys while rupturing a planned rupture portion installed at the side support portion; and a partitioning portion partitioning the airbag into a main chamber and a chamber for rupturing that is provided at a rear side and a lower side of the main chamber. At least a lower end side region of the chamber for rupturing, in an expanded and deployed state, protrudes further toward a vehicle front side than the planned rupture portion. Communication ports communicating the respective chambers with one another are formed at an upper end side and a lower end side of the partitioning portion.

摘要: A lateral partition divides the interior of an airbag main body into an upper inflation chamber including a first section and a lower inflation chamber including a second section. The upper inflation chamber is located above the second section of the lower inflation chamber. An upper restricting portion is provided in a bridging manner in the first section. The upper restricting portion has a front-rear length that is shorter than a circumferential length in a front-rear direction of the first section. The upper restricting portion is tensioned in the front-rear direction when the upper inflation chamber is inflated. The upper restricting portion restricts an inflated dimension in the front-rear direction of the upper inflation chamber such that an inflated dimension of the first section in a lateral direction of the automobile is greater than an inflated dimension of the lower inflation chamber in the lateral direction.

摘要: A side airbag system for a vehicle has a primary airbag and a secondary airbag at least partially surrounding the primary airbag. The primary airbag comprises at least one primary vent venting into the secondary airbag and the secondary airbag comprises at least one secondary vent. The primary airbag is inflated by an inflator and the secondary airbag is inflated by gases leaving the primary airbag through the primary vent. The secondary airbag has a panel overlying the primary vent, and inflation of the primary airbag urges the vent and panel in an outboard direction against outboard vehicle structure to restrict flow through the vent. The inflation rates of the primary and secondary airbags are thereby controlled such that the primary airbag protects a vehicle occupant against impacts with a localized load profile and the primary and secondary airbags together protect the occupant against impacts with a distributed load profile.

Inside a side airbag, a rapid chamber extends from a seat back region over a top region and a bottom region and tapers towards the vehicle front; a delay chamber is positioned between the top region and bottom region, and a partitioning member partitions the interior of the side airbag into the delay chamber and the rapid chamber. An inflator is provided inside the rapid chamber.

摘要: To provide an airbag and an airbag device that can keep the internal pressure of the airbag in the initial stage of inflation and deployment high. An airbag includes a first chamber and a second chamber. The first chamber includes a nozzle forming a flow path capable of communicating with the second chamber, and a tether connecting the inner surface of the nozzle and the inner surface of the first chamber. During the inflation and deployment of the first chamber, the supply of gas to the second chamber is prevented by retracting the nozzle into the first chamber. After the first chamber is expelled into the cabin and when a predetermined external pressure is loaded on the first chamber, the nozzle is expelled into the second chamber so as to allow gas to be supplied to the second chamber.
