Abstract:
A placing apparatus having first and second rear end holding members is provided between a loading apparatus that loads items in an upright position and a conveyance apparatus downstream. These rear end holding members move making a box motion when seen from the side. As a result, while the first rear end holding member holds the rearmost end of a group of items, the second rear end holding member stands by to receive a new item. The invention provides a conveyance apparatus and a boxing apparatus comprising the same that have widespread applicability. The conveyance apparatus and boxing apparatus, while achieving high-speed processing, are able to convey items of varying thickness and grouped in varying numbers in a stable manner and maintained in a prescribed position.
Abstract:
Device and method for filling a carton with flexible articles. Individual articles are grouped to a vertical stack and entered in a cassette in which the stack is tightly received. The cassette is closed on all sides and after removing of the opening the stack of bags will gently drop in a carton being positioned below. According to a further aspect of the invention the device is arranged to provide both horizontal and vertical stacking of bags in cartons by replacing the cassette by a carton which is subsequently tilted.
Abstract:
The carton is convertible into two display trays on which tapered articles may be displayed. The trays can be pivoted about a fold line without disturbing each row of articles in the carton. The fold line is formed in the base of the carton whereas lines of weakening are formed in the top, front and rear. The top of the carton is provided with a pair of parallel weakened or tear lines that are parallel to the fold line in the base. The tear lines in the top extend all the way across the top to define between themselves a removable portion. The distance between the fold line and either tear line of the top is dimensioned such that the two rows of articles may be efficiently separated or uninterleaved from each other while held respectively in the two trays when the two trays are pivoted about the fold line.
Abstract:
Method and assembly for filling a box with relatively flexible bags, such as snack food bags of relatively small size. Two rows of bags are horizontally placed adjacent to each other. A number of groups or rows can be vertically placed above each other in a box. To that end first of all a cassette is filled by transferring bags having a fixed spacing and lowering them in a cassette. After the cassette is filled, it is closed at its upper side and in lateral direction emptied.
Abstract:
The present invention is directed to a system and method for producing multi-packs of pouched pet food containing multiple varieties of a food product or different foods in a continuous production process. The method includes the steps of providing a plurality of meat preparation modules in which each module contains a different variety of a food product or different kinds of food products. A selected meat mixture from a selected meat preparation module is process through a meat forming module. A continuous strip of flexible pouches is provided for filling. The continuous strip of flexible pouches is filled with the selected meat mixture and then the pouches are sealed. The filled flexible pouches are accumulated in a work box. Different varieties of a food product or different kinds of food products are accumulated in a plurality of work boxes. Pouches are selected from the plurality of work boxes in order to form individual multi-packs of pouches wherein each multi-pack includes a variety of a food product or different kinds of food products.
Abstract:
Conveyor assembly for packagings, comprising a substantially horizontally conveying conveyor. Situated near the delivery end of said conveyor is a bearing plate, which when the pack moves onto it moves further substantially at the same speed as the conveyor into an accommodation in which the pack has to be placed. When the pack is entirely clear of the conveyor, the bearing plate is moved back so fast that the pack, through its inertia and through its speed of displacement, does not move back and comes to a standstill, so that it is subsequently received in the accommodation.
Abstract:
A machine for conditioning filled and sealed bags for testing, to assure that the bags are accurately tested without damaging the product contained in the bags, and for packaging the bags that have passed the test in cartons with the longitudinal axis of the bags arranged vertical.
Abstract:
An apparatus for automatically collecting and packing a selected number of units of product in flexible bags into a carton in a vertical orientation. The apparatus includes a collecting assembly for receiving and positioning a row of such units in an inclined position. An assembly is provided to transport the inclined row of units from the collecting assembly to a loading station. The loading station is operable to raise one or more rows transported thereto from their inclined position to a substantially vertical position, then plunge the vertically positioned units into a carton. A controller is provided for synchronizing the relative operation of the apparatus.
Abstract:
A method and apparatus for inserting filled bag-like containers into despatch or display boxes, cartons or the like, comprising the steps of feeding the containers to a conveying system which has a plurality of compartments for receiving the containers, each compartment extending transversely to the conveying direction conveying the containers to an ejector station, ejecting a preselected number of containers at the ejector station from said compartments to a buffer store where initially the containers are loosely arranged, subsequently pressing the containers in the buffer store closely against each other, moving the tightly packed containers into a position directly in front of the opening of a carton to be filled and loading the tightly packed containers into the opened carton. For acceleration of the operating cycle means for the ejector system are provided for reciprocating movement in a direction parallel to the direction of movement of the conveying system such that movement of the ejector system in the conveying direction takes place in synchronism with the conveying speed of the conveying system.
