摘要： A dual purpose waste receptacle including a trash container having an open and a closed end and provided with a removable top, having a pair of oppositely disposed swinging doors, releasably covering the open end. The top open end of the container has a transverse divider disposed therein and provided with a pair of spaced vertically extending edges defining an elongated open channel extending the length thereof and facing the open top end of the trash container. The vertically extending divider edges receive a portion of the top of each of two trash can liners in overlapping relationship thereon and frictionally receive a crossbar carried by the removable top to assist in retaining the top and the trash can liners in position. A pair of diametrically disposed handles are carried by the removable top and engage under the overhanging lip exterior surface of the can top. The divider channel also supports at least one relatively thick sheet of plastic depending therefrom and serving to maintain the two can liners linearly separated.

摘要： A pair of elongate, segmented gripping members are carried by the lifting member of a refuse collection vehicle. Each of the gripping members includes an inner arm movably carried by the lifting member and an outer arm movably extending from the inner arm. The gripping members are movable between a retracted position in which the inner arms extend in generally opposite directions, fore and aft along the side of the vehicle, and an extended position in which the inner arms extend in generally the same direction laterally outward from the vehicle. Each outer arm is inwardly movable relative the respective inner arm to draw a container into the embrace of the gripping members. A pair of elongate flexible members engage the container to supplement the grip of the gripping members.

摘要： The present invention is a cabinet having multiple compartments for storing and sorting articles, such as recyclables, laundry, toys, trash, etc. Vertical slots are provided in the front and rear walls of the cabinet for the insertion of dividing panels to thereby adjust the number and size of compartments. Cleats are provided on the interior of the cabinet, and on the panels for holding the handles or drawstrings of plastic or cloth bags. A bottom drawer is located on the front of the cabinet. The drawer can store extra bags for future use, and is also large enough to store any unused panels. The top of the cabinet includes three covers for access to the compartments. The drawer and covers are provided with knobs to aid in opening the drawer and covers. Two of the vertical slots are located between the covers. This configuration allows access to one of the compartments at a time when the panels are placed in these two slots. When additional panels are used each cover can provide access to more than one compartment depending on the placement of the panels. Optionally, four castors can be provided on the bottom of the cabinet to allow easy movement from one location to the next. With the exception of hardware, hinges and the castors, the entire cabinet can be made of wood for aesthetic purposes. Other materials such as plastic, metal, press-board, laminates, etc., can be used depending on the preferred cost or appearance.
