Abstract:
A progressive damping device for furniture is designed to prevent impacts between the mobile parts of furniture provided with self-closing systems, and provides progressive closure according to the speed and energy acquired in the closure. The damping device generally includes a cylinder in which a dynamic fluid circulates, and in the interior of which there is displaced a piston which has a rod provided with an elastoplastic valve, which delimits respective compression and expansion chambers.
Abstract:
A hinge includes a hinge body having an operating chamber defining a first longitudinal axis; a pivot rotatably coupled to the hinge body to rotate a closing element around a second longitudinal axis between an open and a closed position; a plunger member having a substantially cylindrical body housed in the operating chamber for the separation thereof into a first and a second variable volume receptacles fluidically connected each other; a working fluid within the operating chamber to hydraulically damp the action of the plunger member; valve means to selectively control the flow of the working fluid between the first and the second receptacle; a shaft for operatively coupling the plunger member and the pivot. The cylindrical body and the shaft are mutually fastened by a fastening element. The shaft includes a first enlarged portion. The cylindrical body is put into fluidic communication the first and second receptacles.
Abstract:
Device for securing a soft ending of the opening movement of a drawer as the latter is drawn towards an outer limit stop (10), the drawer being mounted in a (not-shown) furniture body and capable of being pulled out from said body, and in which there may be one or more rails (1, 3) between the drawer and the furniture body. The device comprises a damper (6) filled with a fluid medium attached to the furniture body—or to a rail of the furniture body—and a piston with a piston rod (7) being reciprocable in said damper (6), the free end of the piston rod (7) being attached to a tilt-able rocker (9). Whenever the piston rod (7) close to its outermost position is moved in and out in the damper (6), the rocker can be moved on a guide portion (17)—mounted at the damper (6)—between a first end position (FIG. 2) close to the damper, in which a first pin (19) mounted at the back of the drawer may engage with the rocker (9), and a second end position (10) far from the damper (6), in which the piston rod (7) is in its outermost position. This device can work in an especially reliable way.
Abstract:
A door closer with a teach mode is disclosed. The door closer that can be self powered and includes a control unit to intelligently control a valve within the door closer to vary the operating characteristics of the door closer as needed. The control unit includes a teach mode that can be invoked at installation time, or any other time, so that appropriate information can be stored in memory regarding an installation configuration, relative jamb position, swing (right or left handed) and other parameters. These values can be accessed by control circuitry in the controller for use in controlling the door closer during operation.
Abstract:
A door hinge for a household appliance, the household appliance including a body and a door, the door being movable about a horizontal axis between a substantially vertical closed position and a substantially horizontal opened position. The door hinge includes a housing couplable to the body, a door lever pivotably mountable on the door for movement about a main shaft, a weight compensating spring and a closing spring. The weight compensating spring holds the door substantially in a position of equilibrium when the door is opened and the closing spring applies a self-closing force shortly before the door reaches the closed position and applies a closure maintaining force when the door reaches the closed position. Further included is a dampening device that counteracts one or both of a closing force and an opening force.
Abstract:
A damper unit which brakes the speed of movement of a moving body by using a piston damper provided with a cylinder and a piston rod which is connected to a piston inside the cylinder, is provided. The damper unit includes a case wherein the above-mentioned piston damper is disposed; a transmitting member slidably provided inside the case and transmitting an external force accompanied by the movement of the above-mentioned moving body; a link member whose one end side is attached to the above-mentioned case so as to become the rotational center, and also whose the other end side is pivotally supported by the above-mentioned transmitting member; and a connecting member connected between both ends of the link member and being in contact with or connected to either the piston rod or the cylinder.
Abstract:
A door closer with a self-powered control unit is disclosed. The control unit for the door closer includes a drive gear configured to rotate in response to movement of a door, and a chain arranged to cooperate with the drive gear to produce linear motion in response to rotation of the drive gear. At least one gear creates rotational motion from the linear motion of the chain to turn a generator and generate electricity to power the control unit. In some embodiments, a set of clutch gears is disposed between the chain and the gear creating the rotational motion from the chain so that only one direction of the rotational motion is transferred to the generator in response to movement of the door in any direction. The control unit can additionally include a power management circuit to store energy from the generator.
Abstract:
In a damping mechanism for a pivot door arranged in a door frame, comprising a door fixture arranged in or on the door panel, a frame fixture arranged in or on the door frame, a damper arrangement arranged in the door fixture or the frame fixture and a damper arrangement counter part mounted in the frame fixture or in the door fixture, a damper arrangement with a brake catcher provided with a damper member includes a spring element which pulls the brake catcher into the fixture and the damper arrangement counter part includes at least one trigger element which is abutted by the brake catcher during closing of the door, so that the damper arrangement begins to dampen the pivot movement of the door as soon as a fixture part of the door comes into contact with a fixture part of the door frame.
Abstract:
A hinge for a movable furniture part fastened to a body of a piece of furniture is proposed, the hinge having a first fastening part which is attachable to the body and which is connected pivotably via a joint mechanism to a second fastening part attachable to the movable furniture part, the joint mechanism comprising articulated levers mounted via axes of articulation. According to the invention, a further pivotably mounted lever is present, which, during a complete as-intended pivoting movement of the hinge, is temporarily coupled to a guide portion on the hinge, the further lever acting upon a damper arrangement of the hinge.
Abstract:
A system for dampening an opening motion of a door includes a frame, an access door and at least one dampening member. The access door is rotatably secured to the frame. The access door is configured to be moved with respect to the frame between closed and completely open positions. The at least one dampening member is secured to the access door or the frame. The dampening member(s) dampens movement of the access door toward the completely open position over a range of motion.
