    摘要： A novel irrigation valve having a single central inlet and a plurality of radially located outlets each covered by a sliding disk valve. Each disk valve is manually operable. and in automatic mode is operated by the interference action of an innovative indexing mechanism which uses the hydraulic pressure of the inlet for its operation. a single three-way solenoid valve is energized to actuate a piston within the indexing mechanism while a pin-teeth engagement of a cylinder-indexer assembly converts the linear motion of a piston rod into a rotary motion of an indexing arm. A battery operated timer controls the time intervals between each incremental rotation of an indexing arm in sequence until it is returned to its home position. The housing of the valve is compact and of low profile, thereby simplifying its manufacturing, assembling, installation and maintenance and reducing cost. Although suitable for use in controlling the distribution of water in an automatic irrigation circuit, it can be modified and be adapted for control of variety of liquids in fluid handling applications.

    摘要： A disc valve is linearly actuated to effect rotation of its sealing disc during opening and closing operations. Disc rotation is effected by creating unbalanced frictional forces between the sealing surfaces during valve operation. Rotation of the disc produces a lapping action that in the process medium renews and polishes the metal seating surfaces with each operation.

    摘要： A gas turbine combustor comprises a plurality of circumferentially spaced can type combustion liners disposed between inner and outer casings of the gas turbine engine. Each combustion liner has an auxiliary set of circumferentially spaced air slots behind a set of circumferentially spaced primary air holes that introduce compressor discharge air to cool hot spots in the primary combustion zone. The air slots are set at an angle so that the compressor discharge air is admitted into the combustion liner in such a way as to induce a swirling motion in the primary combustion zone. The combustion liner also has a set of circumferentially spaced dilution air holes that are sized and located upstream far enough to maintain an acceptable exit temperature profile and acceptable low level carbon monoxide and unburned hydrocarbons emissions.

    摘要： A crankcase drain valve assembly for replacing the standard oil drain plug commonly used for draining used oil from the crankcases of most internal combustion engines. The assembly includes a valve housing for mounting in the drain opening of the crankcase formed with a central passage therethrough and a transversely extending valve opening intersecting the central passage. A valve member is pivotally attached to the valve body and is formed to move in and out of sealing engagement with the central passage. A lever attached to the valve member permits opening and closing of the valve member without any special tools. The valve member is held in the closed position by rotating a lever until a boss on the lever arm is received in a detent in the valve housing.
