    摘要： A bimetal strip operated control comprises a switch housing and a frame supporting the strip and rigidly attached to the housing with an appreciable air gap between the housing proper and the frame. A plate of insulating material of the type which is dimensionally affected by its moisture content is disposed in the gap between the housing and frame so as to provide electrical insulation intermediate the switch terminals, projecting from a side of the housing, and the frame. The spacing of the frame from the housing proper and the thickness of the insulation member is such as to permit expansion and contraction of the insulation member without affecting the spatial relationship of the frame, including the bimetal strip, and housing.

    摘要： A thermal sensor for application to the exterior of a tube or the like comprises a thermistor supported within a rectangular casing, one end of which is urged by a spring into engagement with the tube. The portion of the casing engaging the tube comprises a heat transfer member having a surface contoured to extensively engage a portion of the tube and having a pair of legs extending inwardly of the casing and straddling the thermistor which is held in a cage-like structure in the interior of the casing. A thermal conducting cement fills voids between the thermistor and the heat transfer member.

    摘要： An air-conditioning system for a zone is disclosed which includes air-heating and air-cooling apparatus which are cycled for heating or cooling air moving to the zone through a duct. Cycling of the apparatus is governed by a temperature control system including a zone air temperature sensor and a duct air temperature sensor. The duct sensor has a relatively large authority in affecting control of the air-conditioning apparatus when the heating or cooling load on the zone is light so that variations in the duct air temperatures alone can effect cycling of the apparatus without any appreciable variation in the zone air temperature from a set point temperature. The authority of the duct sensor diminishes substantially when the zone temperature is relatively remote from the set point so that the conditioning apparatus is not cycled according to the duct air temperature.

    摘要： A two-stage thermostatically operated switching mechanism has two toggle switches supported on different levels of an insulator support. The switches have a common terminal member for fixed contacts and movable contacts of the respective switches are operated by overcenter spring mechanisms actuated by a common lever connected with an expansible power element. The overcenter operating mechanism of one switch has an elongated tension spring which is connected with a movable control arm and is caused to shift from one side to the other of dead center by the common lever. The pivot for the contact arm is shiftable towards and from the actuating lever by a screw adjustment.
