摘要： A device in the configuration and appearance of a slot machine enables a lottery player to compare the combination of numbers he has selected and entered in the lottery with the winning series of numbers from a lottery drawing. A window in the front of the fanciful slot machine device displays numbers on dial wheels which are set by the user in accordance with the winning numbers drawn in the lottery. Below the winning lottery number window is a window or series of windows disposed in a horizontal line, for displaying the user's selected combination of numbers from a lottery ticket fed through an infeed slot and into position by means of an advancing wheel or knob manually rotated by the user. All number combinations selected by the user can be compared directly with the winning numbers by advancing the ticket, number series by number series, to make comparisons sequentially to the winning number combination.

摘要： An access control ticket having three fields of data, a first field (3) of fixed data, a second field (7) of variable data, and a third field (8) of variable data is read and information processed by a microprocessor. The microprocessor determines the validity of information on the ticket data fields and which of the variable fields has older data. Writing only occurs on (over) the variable field with invalid or older data. Upon subsequent use, the ticket contains current access data (just written) and last previous access data, as well as fixed field data. This added data (past use) can be used for statistical analysis or other purposes. More importantly, the added data field reduces read/write reliability problems. One improperly written variable data field does not invalidate ticket, only the last variable data entry. The microprocessor is programmed to overwrite invalid data in one of the variable data fields during the next use. Since the ticket still has the fixed data field and a prior use variable data field, no human intervention, repair of access control devices (for single failures), or new tickets are required. The location of variable use data can also be segregated from fixed data to further enhance reliability. This reduction in failures and tolerance of single non recurring errors allows hand held swipe type read/writer to be utilized for mass transit applications. Access is quick, avoiding manual ticket insertion, grabbing, transport and return.

摘要： A multi-format document printer and processor has a plurality of data writing and reading means for data in different formats, disposed along a transport path. Forms are separated from a continuous perforated form supply and advanced along the transport path. Bidirectional drive rollers disposed along the path advance the documents and reverse them for reprocessing as necessary. At the end of the transport path, the documents are routed to an exit hopper or a reject hopper and a sensor at the exit detects already-issued forms manually loaded by an operator, which already-issued forms can be likewise bidirectionally processed for reading, verification, modification and the like. The processor is preferably embodied for transportation tickets and boarding passes, having: optical character recognition (OCR) write and read devices, magnetic strip write and read devices and a dot matrix printer having an array of print heads operable to print a document in one pass. Reversible feed and take-up spools for a wide ribbon movably disposed under the dot matrix array are provided with separate bidirectional two-speed drives. Movable tension arms along the ribbon path detect a near-empty condition of either of the spools by timing the rate at which the tension arms are deflected with the spools operating at different speeds.

摘要： A ticket diverter for use in conjunction with a ticket processing apparatus. The diverter has an entry passage through which a ticket enters and an exit passage through which the ticket is expelled. 摘要： Apparatus for counting and endorsing documents and more particularly tickets dimensionally within the preferred range from 1 inch by 2 inches to 2 inches by 5.5 inches and in the thickness range from two mils to 14 mils. The stack of tickets is placed in an in-feed hopper and is engaged by an eccentric bottom feed picker to drive preferably the bottom-most document toward a drive wheel and stripper wheel assembly to permit documents to pass only in single file beyond the stripper device. The documents are fed in single file between cooperating belts until they are picked up by acceleration means which abruptly accelerates the documents to provide a gap therebetween suitable for counting purposes.The documents are driven into a stacker wherein they are stacked in the same order in which they were loaded into the in-feed hopper. A stacker arm provides pressure on the building stack which pressure is continually reduced as the stack increases in height to assure a smooth stacking operation. The stacker back plate is adjustable to accommodate the documents of different lengths. A single drive belt is utilized to feed, drive and convey documents to the acceleration means.The documents may be endorsed by selectively moveable endorsing means arranged to prevent "back printing." A novel split retainer mechanism is utilized to facilitate fast removal and replacement of the endorser, ink roller and the endorser drum, while at the same time providing the capability of retaining and locking these elements in place during use.
