摘要: A tachometer for a motor vehicle includes a controller adapted to provide a current rpm value at a current gear which is engaged and at least one predicted rpm value at a different gear which is not currently engaged. A display is operatively connected to the controller and is adapted to produce an observable indication of the current rpm value and an observable indication of the predicted rpm value. By displaying predicted rpm values for different gears, the motor vehicle operator can easily see the effect of shifting gears so that the gears can be shifted in a manner to obtain optimum performance of the motor vehicle. The display preferably produces an observable indication of the current gear number near the current rpm value and an observable indication of the different gear number near the observable indication of the predicted rpm value. The display also preferably produces an observable indication of a power-peak rpm value and an observable indication of a torque-peak rpm value to aid the motor vehicle operator in obtaining optimum performance. In one embodiment, the current rpm value is displayed as an arc-shaped bar graph with a height increasing from a low rpm end of the graph to a high rpm end of the bar graph. The predicted rpm values are arc-shaped bar graphs located adjacent the graph indicating the current rpm value. All of the bar graphs utilize common scale numbers with the graphs indicating predicted rpm values of lower gears located below the graph indicating the current rpm value and graphs of predicted rpm values of higher gears located above the graph indicating the current rpm value. A numerical indication of the current gear is located at the end of the graph indicating the current rpm value and numerical indications of higher and/or lower gears are located at the end of the graphs indicating the predicted rpm values. In alternative embodiments, the current and predicted rpm values are as adjacent vertical linear bar graphs, horizontal linear bar graphs, coaxial circular bar graphs, and separate spaced-apart circular graphs.

摘要: A tachograph digital conversion apparatus converts the markings from a chart into suitable form for analysis by a computer. The apparatus utilizes a television camera for scanning successive sectors of the chart with a scanning beam. The composite signal from the television camera contains video, scanning and frame information. The composite signal has a horizontal pulse output at the beginning of each scan and a vertical pulse output at the beginning of each frame. The apparatus includes detectors for counting and detecting the number of scans and the number of frames through which the beam has scanned the chart. When the beam encounters a marking on the chart, this fact together with the information concerning the position of the scanning beam at the time of such encounter is encoded into suitable binary form for processing by a digital computer. The encoded information is then transmitted to a computer for analysis. To increase the resolution, a portion of the chart is magnified and the television camera scans the magnified image of the chart. Also, the chart is scanned by the television camera and information is only extracted following a predetermined time period after which the image of the chart has formed sharply on the television vidicon tube. The resolution and accuracy of the converting apparatus is further increased by dividing that portion of the magnified chart image which is being examined into a predetermined number of steps. By continuously counting and monitoring the step count, scan count and frame count, the positions of the markings can be easily determined. The information concerning the position of the scanning beam, together with the information concerning the presence of a marking, is converted into binary code and transmitted to a computer interface. The interface circuit responds to a ready condition of the computer, and transmits the binary coded information to the computer for analysis.

摘要: Apparatus for reproducing information which is recorded on concentric tracks of rotary disk-shaped carriers has a continuously driven motor which can be connected with a centering and rotating device for carriers and with a carriage which shifts the reproducing head into registry with a selected track of a centered carrier. The motor drives a timer wheel for generation of synchronizing pulses which are transmitted to a revolution counter. A programming circuit which receives signals from the counter and from the reproducing head controls a unit which records the reproduced information.

摘要: A computing system implements a telematics service that obtains a set of vehicle telematics data for each vehicle of a population. Within each set of vehicle telematics data, a set of time-based measurements for a measurement type is identified. The set of time-based measurements identified for each vehicle are combined to obtain a combined set of time-based observations for the measurement type across the population of vehicles or a sub-set of the population defined by vehicle make, model, and/or year of production. An outlier observation is identified from among the combined set of time-based observations. A determination is made whether the outlier observation is part of a temporary deviation or a persistent deviation. For a temporary deviation, an impact of the outlier observation on the set of time-based measurements is reduced. For a persistent deviation, the outlier observation is programmatically characterized.

摘要: Systems and methods are provided for task-based health data monitoring relating to aircraft components of aircraft within an aircraft fleet. One method includes identifying health data of an aircraft component for potential monitoring based upon a condition indicator provided by a health and usage monitoring system, establishing a Review Item for the health data of the aircraft component having an initial data review state of New Data, thereby creating a Review Task, generating images of the Review Item for display and receiving an indication to change the data review state of the Review Item from New Data to Watch Data, receiving new health data relating to the aircraft component from the health and usage monitoring system and automatically resetting the data review state of the Review Item from Watch Data to New Data responsive to the receipt of the new health data, thereby creating a new Review Task.
