    摘要: In a control waveform generator for an electronic musical instrument of the type wherein the generator generates a control waveform adapted to control at least one of a tone pitch, a tone color and a tone volume, the control waveform generator is constituted by a pulse generator for generating a pulse signal having a repetitive frequency, and a detector including a counter which starts to count the number of the pulse signals when a key is depressed. The detector generates a first detection signal during an interval between depression of the key and a time at which a counter reaches a predetermined value and then produces a second detection signal until the depressed key is released. The control waveform generator further comprises a capacitor whose terminal voltage is taken out as the control waveform, a first charging or discharging circuit responsive to the first detection signal for charging or discharging the capacitor, a second discharging or charging circuit responsive to the second detector signal for discharging or charging the capacitor, and a third discharging or charging circuit for discharging or charging the capacitor when the depressed key is released.

    摘要: A plural mode envelope generator in which a basic time constant circuit is coupled by selector switches to a plurality of envelope generating means which function under the control of one or both of a keydown detector and a legato pulse generator. Fast attack-short substain and slow attack-long sustain envelope circuits involve standard techniques. A dual mode percussion circuit provides post key release sustain in one mode when the keydown detector is decoupled from the circuit and post key release tone snubbing when the keydown detector is coupled to the circuit. A sostenuto circuit with flip-flop latch includes a reset gate to hold the flip-flop in reset until sostenuto keying is desired whereupon a unidirectional circuit couples the initial keydown signal to the latch to place the flip-flop in a set state but prevents the disappearance of that signal from resetting the latch.

    摘要: An electronic instrument for simulating the sound of a plucked string bass or other stringed instrument is described. The instrument incorporates a circuit in which the shunt resistance of a resistive capacitive phase shift oscillator is varied selectively in order to more closely simulate the sound generated by a stringed instrument, where the string is more taut when first plucked and consequently at a higher pitch than after its vibration has damped. The circuit also incorporates a switching arrangement whereby a note can be played either with a gradual decay following release of the key or with a decay while the key is depressed and a rapid cutoff when the key is released in order to permit the person utilizing the instrument to have effective control over the staccato effect.

The control electronics includes an oscillator and gate circuit coupled to the bus for providing a gate output signal which is present as long as at least one key is actuated, a sample/hold circuit coupled to the bus for providing a control voltage signal the amplitude of which is a function of the position of the actuated key, and a trigger signal means coupled to the keyboard and responsive to the gate circuit and the actuation of two or more keys for providing a trigger signal of shorter duration than the gate signal and occurring near the commencement of the gate signal.
