The present invention relates to a transposition device for a prefabricated electrical canalization, said canalization comprising a certain number of conducting bars distributing different phases including or not the neutral, said bars extending substantially parallel to one another, said transposition device being designed to reverse the position of at least two bars with respect to one another in the canalization. This device is characterized in that it is designed to be incorporated in said canalization, and comprises the same number of portions of bar as the number of above-mentioned bars of the canalization, at least one of these portions of bar being interrupted inside the device so as to form two parts of portions of bars, these parts comprising at their ends a fold towards the outside of said device thus forming an end part that is outwardly offset so as to increase the space between these end parts, this space enabling electrical connection of said end parts of portions of bars with one another by means of a conducting bridge fixed onto said end parts and electrically connecting said end parts via the outside of the set of portions of bars on one side or the other of the device in such a way that the two above-mentioned parts of portions of bar present a different position on input and output of the transposition device.

A tap-off base assembly of the present invention provides protection against the ingress of dust and liquids into an electrical busway distribution system of the type having access openings for receiving power tap-off devices. The tap-off base assembly includes a base molded from an electrically insulating material and a pivotally attached door. A tap-off opening seal is placed on the housing around the tap-off opening. The base is slidably received in the busway tap-off opening such that the seal is compressed thereby sealing the tap-off opening. The base has a planar outside surface which includes a number of access openings. Each access opening provides access to one the electrical conductors contained within the busway housing. The door may be selectively moved between an open position which provides access to the electrical conductors and a closed position which prohibits access to the conductors. The door also has a flange around its perimeter and a sealing rib which extend outward from the inside surface of the door. When the door is in the closed position the flange overlaps an edge portion of the base and the sealing ribs are pressed against a gasket in the planar outside surface of the base which surrounds the access openings thereby sealing the access openings and preventing the ingress of dust and liquids into the busway housing. A latch is provided for securing the door in its closed position.

One member embodies a U-shaped piece, involving straight sides on the U which terminate at the ends of the sides, and a second piece of U-shape having a base and straight sides which operate within the first piece, in which the sides are parallel with the sides of the first piece and terminate at the ends of the sides of the first piece. The cable is contacted by the base of the U of the first piece and the base of the U of the second piece which exert pressure on it. The ends of the first piece have flanges on three sides, which are connected to similar flanges in prolongation on a similar piece. The ends of the second piece have flanges on the base of the U which are connected to flanges on a similar piece in prolongation. There are fillers which remain in fixed position as joint covers at the ends of the second piece. Special pieces are provided for leading the cable around corners for extending cables and making connection to other cables.

A cablebus housing which has telescoping U-shaped members adapted to separate to thread insulated conductors through the housing and to contract to engage opposed faces of the conductor insulation, which are preferably octagonal in cross section to aid in heat conductivity away from the insulation. The housing has a coupling half of one type protruding from one end and adapted to cooperate with a coupling half of another type on another housing or fitting, and it has a coupling half of the other type protruding from the other end and adapted to cooperate with another housing or fitting. The telescoping housing members are moved from their expanded to their contracted positions by clamping screws, which preferably engage diverging flanges on the sides of the telescoping U-shaped members. In some cases the housing cooperates with a fitting having a coupling half of either type suitable to couple with the housing, and having a transverse flange at the end provided with an opening through which the conductors can run. The fitting also has telescoping U-shaped members which extend from the flange less than the length of the coupling half. In some embodiment the housing is connected to a first supplemental fitting which has parallel prongs on the side adjoining the telescoping arms of the housing members and which contacts a second supplemental fitting which has parallel prongs parallel with the bases of the U''s of the housing and adapted to fit the first supplemental fitting and provide access to the conductors. The second supplemental fitting at the end removed from the housing has parallel prongs similar to those first mentioned which are adjoining the telescoping sides of the housing.
