摘要： In a busway having plural busbars disposed with their broad sides in face-to-face relation, the ends of longitudinally aligned outside busbars are cut at complementary angles to create a single edge connecting segment for each busbar which extends through a phase transposition zone. Upper and lower transverse connectors are welded at their opposed ends to transversely aligned edge connecting segments to effectively reverse the phase positions of the busbars upstream and downstream of the transposition zone. If the busway includes two inside busbars, phase transposition is achieved in similar fashion. Once insulatively coated, the phase transpositioned busbars are nested together to create a compact transposition zone having a transverse dimension no greater than the busway therebeyond.

摘要： A busway plug assembly includes an enclosure mounted at one end to the busway for swinging movement from an open position to a secured closed position with respect to a side opening in the busway housing through which protrude taps individually electrically connected to the various busbars of the busway. A joint floatingly mounted wholly within the enclosure facing a side-opening therein receives the taps as the enclosure is swung to its closed position. A removable enclosure cover affords access for securing the joint pursuant to making electrical connections between the stabs and conductive straps associated with an electrical device also mounted within the enclosure.

摘要： Separate conductive foils, riveted in electrical connection to each end of the ground bus in a busway section, are wrapped over the flange of the busway section housing. Upon joining two busway sections end-to-end, the foils of adjacent ground bus ends are sandwiched between the lapped flanges of adjacent busway sections. The ground bus joint is perfected by bolts clamping the lapped flanges together.

摘要： The sandwiched, fully insulated bus bars in a busway section are each provided with an insulation-free, through contact aperture in registry with enlarged, insulated, through clearance apertures formed in the overlying portions of the other bus bars. The stabs of a bus plug, individually electrically associated with different ones of the bus bars, extend through the clearance apertures in unassociated bus bars for electrical contacting engagement with the sidewalls of the appropriate contact apertures. The contact elements of the stabs are of sufficient length such that the stabs may be plugged into engagement with the appropriate contact apertures from either side of the busway.
