    摘要： Improved squiggle keys and cylinder locks include a squiggle key groove formed along a first broad surface of the squiggle key and a plurality of bittings formed along a second opposite broad surface of the squiggle key. The cylinder lock includes a plurality of rotatable discs that have groove-following elements that are rotated via the groove on the key. The rotatable discs operate to prevent a plug of the cylinder lock from rotating unless a correct squiggle key is inserted into a keyway in the plug. The bittings formed along the second opposite broad surface of the squiggle key are generally circular and have inner regions with a different depth than outer regions of the bittings. As a result, tumbler pins can be located along the inner and/or outer regions of the bittings which enables increased keying capabilities and variations and which enables a common lock to be operated by keys for different cylinder locks.

    摘要： An auto-directing lever lock includes a case housing a cylinder (4) with a plug (3) mounted for movement therein. The plug includes a keyway (14) for accepting a key bit (7). A keyway opening (15) on the surface of the plug provides access for lever tumblers (6) to engage lever steps on the key bit. The key bit is detachable from a bow and shank section (8), and inserted in to the keyway through a key hole (39) in the case. The tumblers ride on a surface of the plug and are held away from the lever steps of the key bit during rotation of the plug, until the tumblers disengage the plug surface due to the keyway opening therein. The tumblers, when disengaged from the plug surface, fall onto the lever steps of the key bit to align gatings (32) of the tumblers so a bolt stump (28) may pass therethrough to retract a bolt (5) of the lock.

    摘要： An axial type, tubular key operated, cylinder lock which utilizes a plurality of variable strength and variable tension spring-biased pin arrangements which are to be movable when connected with the proper key to a shear-line position achieving operation of said lock. A pin assembly is normally movable longitudinally to its shear-line position. Any attempt to move the pin assembly other than with a properly coded key will result in the pin assembly being deflected to a displaced position deterring against operation of the lock.

    摘要： A two-stage tumbler lock wherein there are two sets of discs, one set being actuatable by a key to free the second set for unlocking movement under the influence of the key. The invention also contemplates a lock designed to receive a peripheral key to cause the above operations.The invention further contemplates a dog leg key particularly a peripheral dog leg key for effecting the above operations.The invention still further contemplates a lock having a peripherally located reset member which makes picking most difficult. A further feature of the lock and its key is that the two coact to perform their intended functions in a manner such that the key cannot be withdrawn from the lock until it is returned to the position it first assumed when inserted into the lock.Another feature of the invention is a disc lock in which the discs have spaced lugs defining the extent of disc movement in regard to a locking member.A still further feature of the invention is the provision of a set of plugs in the lock coacting with an axial member and plural discs.
