摘要: A multipoint door lock system for a door having on its edge a deadbolt and a secondary bore is disclosed. The system includes a door frame. A pivotable latch mounted in the door frame has a door-locking tip that enters the secondary bore of the door when the door is closed. Insertion of the deadbolt in a bolt opening of the door frame causes a lever to move from a resting position, displacing a translating member mounted in the door frame to an extended position. A distal end of the translating member enters a recess of the pivotable latch, locking the pivotable latch. The system may include a pair of translating members and a pair of pivotable latches having door-locking tips entering corresponding secondary bores of the door. A combination of the multipoint door lock system with the door is also disclosed.

摘要: A lock and method of use for securing and un-securing first and second articles, the lock comprises a first element rotationally engaged about a longitudinal axis to the first article, an extension beam rotationally engaged about a lengthwise axis to the first article, the lengthwise and longitudinal axes are coincident, the beam has structure to rotationally engage and disengage the first element. Also included is structure to engage and disengage the second article that is driven from the beam, wherein operationally the beam rotationally engages the first element and the extension beam engages and disengages the first and second articles, resulting in the beam always being able to engage and disengage the first and second articles and the first element only having an ability to engage and disengage the first and second articles when the first element and the beam are rotationally engaged to one another.

摘要: Embodiments described herein are directed to a locking mechanism having a door with an interior facing surface and an exterior facing surface, a handle assembly comprising a handle that is selectively repositionable between a locked handle position and an unlocked and latched handle position, an engagement bolt coupled to the handle assembly and slidably mounted to the interior facing surface of the door, a biasing member coupled to the engagement bolt, wherein the biasing member applies a force to the engagement bolt biasing the engagement bolt in an inward direction, and a lock with a lock housing and a locking bolt that is selectively repositionable between a locked position to inhibit translation of the engagement bolt and an unlocked position to allow translation of the engagement bolt. The handle is biased toward the unlocked and latched handle position with the locking bolt in the unlocked position.

摘要: An emergency shelter includes a number of reinforced walls that define a substantially enclosed interior space in which people can enter in emergencies; a doorway opening formed in at least one of the walls to permit entry into and exit from the interior space; a door mounted over that doorway opening; and a latching assembly for latching and locking the door in its closed position. The door is configured to slide horizontally relative to the doorway opening between an open position and a closed position so that it can be opened even when debris is blown up against it. The shelter also includes a door jamb adjacent the doorway opening for receiving and partially surrounding a leading edge of the door to prevent movement of the door along an axis transverse to the horizontal sliding direction of the door so that the door does not cave in when struck by debris. A flange on the trailing edge of the door overlaps a flange on the front wall when the door is closed to prevent movement of the door along an axis transverse to the horizontal sliding direction of the door so that the trailing edge of the door does not cave in when struck by debris. The latching assembly securely latches and locks the door in its closed position but permits the door to be opened even when portions of the latching assembly are damaged.

摘要: A multipoint mortise lock mechanism for a swinging door, including a central cassette assembly operably coupled to an upper remote locking point assembly and a lower remote locking point assembly by a remote locking linkage. The central cassette assembly includes a housing, a deadbolt mechanism, a latchbolt mechanism, a remote locking point mechanism and an anti-slam mechanism. The anti-slam mechanism includes an anti-slam plunger that when in an extended position engages the remote locking linkage via a boss and a slot and thereby inhibits movement of the remote locking linkage whereby deployment of the remote locking point assemblies is prevented. The deadbolt mechanism includes a deadbolt extendible from the central cassette that is independently operable from the remote locking point mechanism. The deadbolt mechanism further includes an anti-back drive mechanism.

摘要: Embodiments of the present disclosure are directed to locking mechanisms for security cabinets. In one embodiment, the locking mechanisms for security cabinets provide a visual indication of whether the security cabinet is locked or unlocked. The security containers include a handle assembly that is coupled to the locking mechanism. The handle assembly may be positioned in at least three positions corresponding to the security container being locked and latched; being unlocked and latched; and being unlocked and unlatched. Because the handle assembly is positioned in these plurality of positions that correspond to the lock and latch status of the locking mechanism, indication of the lock and latch status of the locking mechanism may be understood by visual inspection.
