摘要:
The solid-liquid separator that uses the substance A capable of dissolving water and oil, and performs dehydration and deoiling from an object to be treated by bringing a mixture of water and a solid, oil and a solid, or water, oil and a solid that is an object to be treated, and the substance A in a liquid state into contact with each other, and subsequently evaporating the substance A, includes a substance B that circulates while causing change of state in a closed system, a compressor that compresses the substance B, a first heat exchanger that exchanges condensation heat of the substance B and evaporation heat of the substance A, an expansion valve that decompresses the substance B which is condensed, and a second heat exchanger that exchanges evaporation heat of the substance B and condensation heat of the substance A.

A hindered-settling fluid classifier is adapted for processing material aggregate in a liquid medium. The fluid classifier includes a classifier tank defined by walls designed for holding the liquid medium, and comprising a sink fraction chamber and a float fraction chamber, and a fluid inlet and a fluid outlet. An elongated rising current column is vertically mounted within the sink fraction chamber, and adapted for extending below a surface of the liquid medium held therein. The rising current column has open upper and lower ends, and defines an aggregate entry between its upper and lower ends for receiving material aggregate into the classifier tank. A float fraction reservoir is located above the sink fraction chamber, and communicates with the open upper end of the rising current column. An overflow passage communicates with the float fraction reservoir, and is adapted for directing the liquid medium outwardly from the reservoir and into the float fraction chamber. A first conveyor removes an aggregate float fraction entrained in the liquid medium and collecting inside the float fraction chamber, while a second conveyor removes an aggregate sink fraction collecting inside the sink fraction chamber.

A wet mechanical process is described for cleaning, upgrading and dewatering fine coal. The process provides for forming an aqueous feed slurry of fine coal and its associated contaminant particles wherein all particles have a particle portion size of less than about 6 mm. ranging to zero. The feed slurry is separated into coal slurry and refuse slurry portions in a spiral gravity concentrator by removing contaminants having a particle size greater than about 0.15 mm. The concentrated coal slurry is then fed to a hydrocyclone separator where all of the ultra-fine silt material having a particle size of less than 0.15 mm. is removed and the coal particle fraction 6 mm. to 0.15 mm. is accumulated and thoroughly dewatered.

A movably mounted receptacle having perforations therein with hollow spigots connected to the receptacle in registry with the perforations and projecting substantially downwardly therefrom, these spigots being moved through a bed of the particulate material in a receiver while particles of the material move through the spigots. The spigots discharge the particles moving therethrough into the bed and agitate the bed during movement therethrough. A fluid medium is directed in the materials in the receptacle, this medium going through the spigots with the material particles and overflowing from the receiver, carrying lighter particles with it while heavier particles concentrate towards the bottom of the bed. The separating method involving the use of this apparatus.

Grit is removed from liquid sewage by flowing such sewage into a settling chamber and causing the sewage to flow in a toroidal pattern around the periphery of the chamber. Grit falls to the floor of the settling chamber and passes radially to and then through a central opening into a grit collection chamber therebeneath. Organic solids are kept in motion in the toroidal flow pattern, or lifted from the settling chamber floor into such flow pattern, and are discharged through an outlet adjacent the upper surface of the liquid in the settling chamber. Toroidal flow is created and maintained by obstructing the tangential flow path of incoming sewage with a baffle which blocks the tangential inlet and has an edge extending above the upper surface of the liquid. A propeller rotating about a vertical axis in the center of the chamber is adjustable so as to keep the contents of the chamber impinging against the baffle as they flow around the tank in the toroidal pattern.
