Abstract:
Design improvements and production jig tools make robust slatted three platform Futon Bed that converts from Bed (2) to Chair (1) or couch. Drill jigs locate holes in each panel. Other jigs form the platform matrixes. Jigs cooperate and assure production with a DRILL GUIDE. The platforms are glued. Improved glue prevents side force from deforming platforms. Design and jigs support fabrication in developing nations. Bed (2) disassembles into four smaller transportable components (3,4,5,6) by the removal of pins. Upper_Foot (13), Upper_Side (12) and Bottom (14) form a storage compartment and reinforce Upper_Pedestal (5) structure. Latch (17) cooperates with Upper_Foot (13) to latch the Chair (1) configuration and prohibit the Chair (1) from decomposing. Additionally, Latch_Catch (36) in Upper_Foot (13) serves as a clearance slot for hinges in the Bed (2) configuration. Platforms are fully symmetrical. In the event of damage to a hinge location, platform hinge reversal restores the convertible bed.
Abstract:
A machining tool for bores in thin-walled work pieces with at least one cutting plate is recommended that is characterized in that the at least one cutting plate (9, 9null, 9null; 9a, 9nulla) is inserted into the circumference surface (15) of the tool (1) in such a way that two viewed in pivot directionnullguide surfaces (31, 33) arranged at a distance to one another are present, which serve as a support of the tool (1) at the machining work piece surface.
Abstract:
A tool for rotating a cutting head relative to a shaft includes a pair of identical L-shaped shanks. Each shank includes first and second parts oriented transversely to one another, with a shoulder projecting from the first part into a corner formed by the first and second parts. A free end of each first part includes a through-hole receiving the second part of the other shank, wherein the shoulders face one another in order to be able to grip a cutting head. Each second part is slidable in its respective through-hole to enable the distance between the shoulders to be adjusted to accommodate different-size cutting heads.
Abstract:
The invention concerns a boring head, essentially consisting of a body (1) provided with a housing (2) for receiving two tool-holders (3), capable of being radially driven via a moving device (4), and of means (5) for locking the tool-holders (3) in operational position. Said boring head is characterised in that the means (5) locking the tool-holders (3) in operational position consists of a single clamping device simultaneously acting on the two tool-holders (3) and on the body (1). The invention is more particularly applicable in the field of machine-tool accessories, in particular digitally controlled machines, of machining plants and adaptable cells and workshops.
Abstract:
A process and a tool for high performance fine machining of boreholes employs a rotary tool with a shaft with at least one longitudinal channel for coolant and lubricant and a cutting head with at least one cutting edge and a chip groove, wherein a back rake (null) of a minor cutting edge of less than 0null is used. The relationship of the back rake (null) to the cutting edge (null) of the tool is such that the smaller the back rake angle (null), the larger the cutting edge angle (null).
Abstract:
A cutting tool (500) has a longitudinally extending shaft portion (588) with a chucking part (509) and a cutting head (506). A pressed powder cutting insert (518) with a cutting edge (520) is on the cutting head (506). The cutting edge (520) includes at least one cutting portion. A rake surface (524) is formed adjacent to at least one of the cutting portions (520) with the rake face (524) being at a rake angle from about 0null to 10null. A clearance face (526) is formed adjacent to the at least one cutting portion opposite the rake face (524). The clearance face (526) is at a clearance angle from about 10null to 50null. An edge radius (540) between the rake face (524) and the clearance face (526) is at a radius of from about 0.0015 to about 0.004 inch. The edge radius 540 is formed during pressing of the powder to form the insert, thus, enabling the insert to be directly braised into the cutting head (506).
Abstract:
A depth stop for use with a drill bit comprises a tubular body having an opening therethrough. Used with a drill bit whose bit portion includes a cutting end, and a shank portion, the depth stop is frictionally positionable on the bit portion at a specified point from the cutting end, thereby indicating a specified depth. Depth stops are manufactured in different colors, each color corresponding to a specified range of drill bits that the depth stops will fit. The depth stops, manufactured from a sterilizable material, are intended for single use. The depth stop can be used with a drill bit and drill extender, where one or more depth stops provide multiple visual points of reference for the operator. The depth stops can be quickly mounted onto most any manufacturer's drill bits.
Abstract:
The apparatus for trimming sheet material includes a top knife and an opposing bottom knife for trimming sheet or web material passing between the top and bottom knives. The top knife defines a negative rake angle with a substantially vertical plane passing through a cutting edge of the bottom knife. The negative rake angle may be between about null10null and null30null and, more preferably, between about null12null and null20null. The top and bottom knives may be disk or block knives.
Abstract:
A protrusible tool 14 is attached to an end portion of a movable member 1, and shoulder parts 11, 12, and 13 that have different heights are provided at the end portion of the movable member. The movable member 1 is set in the moving device 3, and a detachable cap 2 is put on the movable member 1. A through hole 22 that allows the protrusible tool 14 to pass threrethrough is formed at an end portion of the cap 2, and projections 21 that project toward center of the through hole 22 are formed. The movable member 1 is ejected and moved by the moving device 3, and the shoulder parts 11, 12, or 13 are brought into contact with the projections 21, whereby the length of a portion of the protrusible tool 14 protruded out of the cap 2 is regulated.
Abstract:
The invention relates to a drilling tool comprising a tool holder, on whose front face interchangeable cutting attachments are fixed and which has a shaft part on the opposite end to said attachments and an adjusting device for minimizing the tolerance measurement determined by the drilling system. In order to improve the aforementioned adjusting device, the invention is characterized in that the tool holder (1) has groove-shaped recesses (5, 8), which lie on respective diametrically opposed sides and which are eccentrically arranged on a plane that is perpendicular to the longitudinal axis of the tool holder. Said groove-shaped recesses have a half-cylinder extension on each of the sides facing the longitudinal axis of the tool holder. A bolt (2, 3), whose dimensions correspond to the size of the cylinder, is located in each extension. The first bolt (2) is connected to a tapered adjusting element (9) using a double-threaded screw (11) which is positioned radially in relation to the tool holder (1). Said tapered adjusting element lies within a cone-shaped cavity running from the outside of the tool holder (1), in such a way that the distance to the first bolt (2) can be adjusted by rotating the double-threaded screw (11), whereby the distance that has been set determines the degree to which the groove-shaped recess (8) located on this side is further expanded or slackened, and in such a way that the second bolt (3) can be tightened in relation to the tool holder (1), using a threaded bolt (4) that engages with a continuous threaded bore of said second bolt. The latter thus counteracts the corresponding strain on the tool holder (1) in the vicinity of the groove-shaped recess (5) which lies on this side.
