摘要: A churning and stoking ram for a furnace is disclosed. The churning and stoking ram includes a frame disposed externally of the furnace, where the stoking ram is mounted on the frame. The stoking ram is positionable relative to the furnace between an external position and an internal position, and is rotatable about a central longitudinal axis of the stoking ram. The stoking ram further includes a churning device positionable relative to the stoking ram between a retracted position and an extended position, a first actuator mounted on the frame to position the stoking ram between the external and internal positions, a second actuator to position the churning device between the retracted and extended positions, and a third actuator to rotate the stoking ram and the churning device associated therewith.

摘要: A method reducing fine dust emission during the time that predried and preheated coal is charged into coke ovens comprises directing wet coal to be carbonized into direct contact with a hot process gas so that the coal is transported dry and heated, directing the hot process gas with the heated coal to a plurality of different separators in succession with the first separator being set to separate only around from 80 to 90% of the total amount of the coal and without separating the fine dust, and a subsequent separator separate the remaining amount of the solid matter including the fine dust, compacting the dust removed from all of the separators and mixing them together, and charging the compacted mixed dust into the coke oven. The apparatus for effecting the invention includes a material separator which is designed as a gravity separator or gravity sifter which is arranged to discharge into a connection between the mixed and compacted dust separator in separate additional separators.

摘要: Method and apparatus for use in a system which conducts a mixture of granular solids, such as preheated coal particles, and carrier gas, such as steam, to a plurality of enclosures, such as individual coke ovens of a coke oven battery. The mixture passes through a primary conduit and at least a portion of the mixture is diverted from the primary conduit by diverter means to a plurality of branch conduits. Each of the branch conduits leads to one of the enclosures. The method includes: removing a portion of the carrier gas from the mixture in the branch conduit prior to introducing the granular solids into the enclosure; and returning the removed portion of the carrier gas to the primary conduit downstream of the diverter means. The apparatus of the present invention includes a bleed-off conduit arranged between each of the branch conduits and a portion of the primary conduit downstream of the diverter means.

摘要: A METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR CARRYING OUT POLLUTION-FREE CHARGING OF COKE OVENS. DURING INTRODUCTION OF A CHARGE INTO A COKE OVEN FOM A LARRY CAR GAS WHICH ESCAPES THROUGH THE LARRY CAR CONNECTIONS TO THE COKE OVEN IS COLLECTED WITH A SUITABLE GAS-COLLECTING PIPE. STANDPIPES WHICH COMMUNICATE WITH THE INTERIOR OF THE COKE OVENS COMMUNICATE WITH A SECOND GAS-COLLECTING PIPE SO THAT ADDITIONAL GAS ESCAPING FROM THE INTERIOR OF THE COKE OVENS IS COLLECTED. THE ENTIRE SPACE OVER THE COKE OVENS IS INCLOSED AND THE INTERIOR OF THE ENCLOSURE COMMUNICATES WITH A THIRD GAS-COLLECTING PIPE IN WHICH GAS IS COLLECTED FROM THE SPACE OVER THE COKE OVENS. ALL OF THIS COLLECTED GAS IS CLEANED BEFORE BEING DISCHARGED TO THE OUTER ATMOSPHERE.

摘要: In a coking furnace unit having a multiplicity of furnace chambers, coal is supplied from a plurality of bunkers mounted on a movable support member. After the closure members are removed from the inlets to the furnace chambers, the bunkers are moved into sealing engagement with the inlets for supplying coal into the chambers. The charging of coal into the furnace chambers and the levelling of the coal within the chambers is carried out to avoid the emission of smoke, soot and dust from the furnaces and to maintain at a minimum the period during which the furnaces are open to receive air from the atmosphere.

摘要: An apparatus includes a material feeder having an input and an output, a reducing nozzle attached to the output of the material feeder, an electrically conductive tube having a first end surrounding at least a portion of the reducing nozzle, and an induction coil surrounding all or part of the electrically conductive tube. A method for treating organic matter includes inductively heating the electrically conductive tube using the induction coil, and supplying the organic matter to the input of the material feeder. The organic matter is pushed through the reducing nozzle using the material feeder, such that the organic matter forms a continuous tube, semi-continuous tube or pellets of organic matter that is pushed through the electrically conductive tube. The continuous tube, semi-continuous tube or elongated pellets of organic matter is treated using the heat within the electrically conductive tube.
