Abstract:
The present invention relates to ply-twisted yarn and cut-resistant fabric for use in articles of protective clothing. The fabric is cut resistant and form fitting by virtue of cut-resistant synthetic fibers, inorganic fibers and elastomeric fibers being combined in a particular manner.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to crosslinked polyvinyl alcohol raw cord and method for producing the same, and more particularly, to crosslinked polyvinyl alcohol fiber, in which PVA resin having a degree of polymerization of more than 1,000 and a degree of saponification of more than 97.0 mol % is dissolved in dimethyl sulfoxide, the solution is subjected to dry and wet gel spinning using methanol as a coagulation solution, drawn and thermally treated, the resulting polyvinyl alcohol drawn yarn with 500-3,000 deniers is twisted to produce a cabling yarn, the cabling yarn is plied into a 2-ply or 3-ply yarn to produce a raw cord, the raw cord is wound on a bobbin for crosslinking and crosslinked in an aqueous crosslinking solution containing an aromatic aldehyde compound and an acid catalyst. Moreover, the present invention relates to a crosslinker-introducing apparatus, which is used in the above method and can effectively induce the crosslinking reaction of the wound raw cord.
Abstract:
An internal torque balancing method of short fiber yarns related to the art of textile and the manufacturing apparatus thereof. The present invention proposes a completely new mechanical processing method of single torque-free yarns, and applies it into the process of ring spinning. Said method accomplishes a machine and a possibility of processing single torque-free yarns within one processing step by simple improvement on the existing ring spinning machine. Said technique is applicable to the production of all types of short fiber materials, and can overcome the maximum bundle yarn count of Ne limit of the torque-free yarns processed by the existing physical balancing technique. Meanwhile, said technique can process the yarns with low twist, which is unable to be processed normally by the conventional ring spinning machine. The torque-free singles ring spinning machine has good mechanical behavior, good handle, and evenness without residual torque.
Abstract:
Cable structures comprising at least three thermoplastic polymer filaments are prepared in a single extrusion process and exhibit performance characteristics comparable to cabled yarn constructions. The cables can be used in fabrics such as those used in paper manufacture.
Abstract:
Fusible adhesive yarn in which spun core yarn and heat fusible yarn are twisted with each other in the same or opposite twisting direction as or to that of the spun core yarn. The spun core yarn is composed of elastic yarn and non-elastic short fiber assembly extending in the direction of the elastic yarn so that the non-elastic short fiber assembly encloses the circumference of the elastic yarn as a core.
Abstract:
An alternate twist plied yarn formed from a plurality of strands of singles yarn twisted in alternating directions in lengthwise intervals of first half-cycles of twist at a predetermined twist level followed by second half-cycles of twist at the same twist level with reversal nodes therebetween, the singles twisted yarns being ply-twisted together in alternating directions in lengthwise intervals of first half-cycles of ply-twist followed by second half-cycles of ply-twist, there being a bond formed adjacent each node wherein the first half-cycle of ply-twist is located within the bond and the second half-cycle of ply-twist originates at one end of the bond, the twist level in the singles twisted yarn is between 25% in the same direction and 60% in the opposite direction of the twist applied to the singles yarns before plying. The process for making an alternate twist plied yarn formed from a plurality of singles strands wherein the plied yarn has low residual singles twist is disclosed as well as an apparatus for forming bonded alternate twist plied yarn from a plurality of strands having a distance between twist reversal nodes defining sections of alternate twist in the yarn and having bonds in the plied yarn adjacent the reversals.
Abstract:
An apparatus for forming a blended yarn from a plurality of yarn strands is disclosed, and wherein the yarns are advanced to contact the surface of a feed roll in a side by side arrangement. A guide roll for each of the yarn strands is positioned upstream of the feed roll, and one or more of the guide rolls has a circumferential configuration which serves to repeatedly move the advancing yarn strands relative to each other so that the strands laterally cross each other on the surface of the feed roll in a predetermined pattern.
Abstract:
A composite yarn comprises a staple fiber component that is formed by drafted sliver. A filament yarn component is formed by applying tension to a filament yarn initially having a crimp such that the crimp is temporarily substantially removed. The staple fiber component and the pretensioned filament yarn component are combined by spinning while the tension is applied to the filament yarn.
Abstract:
A spindle is mounted to a frame for rotation about the spindle axis. A core yarn package of elastic core yarn is held stationary on the spindle. Elastic core yarn is withdrawn from the core yarn package in a direction substantially along the spindle longitudinal axis. A nonelastic covering yarn is drawn from a supply package, through the spindle and along a confined yarn guide passageway from the spindle guide passageway outwardly, upwardly and inwardly around and in spaced relation to the core yarn package for confining and guiding the covering yarn, and then into wrapping engagement with the withdrawn core yarn to form a corespun yarn.
