摘要： The invention relates to a switch and to a method for transporting and installing such a switch, which is equipped with longitudinal sleepers, the sleeper sections (2, 3) of which are or can be coupled in a flexurally stiff manner by means of a connecting device (16) embedded in the sleeper heads (4) so that the switch can be folded for space-saving transport. The divided longitudinal sleepers are oriented relative to each other and installed in such a way that the joints of the longitudinal sleepers are aligned along a straight line, which thus can serve as a rotational axis for folding up a side of the switch. The joints aligned on the rotational axis act similarly to a hinge band so that complete switch segments, such as a switch end part or the core region, can be folded along the line.

摘要： An improved design that would allow one workman to easily elevate a heavy concrete tie to the base of the rail and hold it in position while tie is connected to the rail with retainer clips. Improvements are made in the handle design that allow the workman to remain in a more upright position at the time the tie comes in contact with the rail. Also added is a safety grip ring near the upper end of the handle. Design improvements are also made at the foot end of the handle unit. At this point the improved tool design will allow more leverage to be applyed to the tie and a varity of hook devises to be used on lower end of tool, depending on what type of concrete tie is to be used.

摘要： A system for the laying of panel track that includes a plurality of panel tracks, a railroad car containing the panel tracks, and a panel track lifter positioned in the railroad car for lifting the panel tracks from the railroad car and for placing the panel tracks exterior of the railroad car. Each of the panel tracks includes a first rail, a second rail, a plurality of ties extending between and beneath each of the rails, and a plurality of gage rods affixed at various locations along the rails. A tension bar extends angularly between the first and second rails so as to create a curvature in the rails. The railroad car includes a material container having a generally flat floor extending between a pair of side walls. The material container has trucks suitable for rolling along a panel track. The material container is made up of a plurality of railroad cars having a flat floor extending throughout the plurality of railroad cars. Each of the railroad cars is in articulated connection to an adjacent railroad car. The unloader is a tractor/bucket that is movable along the flat floor of the material container. A suitable arrangement of chains with a centrally located hook, engaged by the bucket, accompanies the unloader so as to releasably attach to a panel track.

A transversely adjustable rail gripping device at each one of the undercarriages detachably holds the assembled track section.

摘要： According to this invention a guideway for railway vehicles and the like having beams or slabs extending between columns or footings comprises a continuous welded steel rail which is fixed directly to the columns or footings. The rail is prestressed in tension prior to fixing to the columns, the amount of prestressing being such that the rail remains in tension at all times that the guideway is usable. Thermally induced effects in the rail may lessen the tension in the rail with increasing temperature but do not fully relieve the tension when the guideway is usable. As the rail is in tension at all times that the guideway is operable no fasteners are used which would ordinarily transmit thermally induced forces to the beams or slabs. The rails are installed on the guideway according to the method of this invention in sections. Adjoining sections of rails are spaced apart a distance "X" and affixed to a column preferably other than at the end of the rail. The free portion of the sections of rail are stretched until in contact with each and then fixed to each other and the columns. The distance "X" is the amount the sections of rail would expand under thermally induced effects over the distance between fixation of the sections to the columns or footings.
