These components (40, 42, 44, 46) collectively form inter-component sealing surfaces, pocket sealing surfaces, gate sealing surfaces and/or part sealing surfaces which prevent the infiltration of outside fluid into, and the escape of operative fluid from, a fluid coupling.

    摘要: The invention relates to a device for connecting flanged pipes. For this purpose, a multiple-section clamp is mainly used which includes inwardly protruding flanges engaging beyond the collars of the pipe ends. An annular profiled seal forms an approximately U-shaped hollow profile with the shanks which are formed as sealing lips and which abut against the peripheral surfaces of the collars. The assembly of the profiled seal is difficult. The sealing effect is often impaired by the peripheral surfaces of the collars being no longer sufficiently even and smooth. These drawbacks are removed by the invention such that the profiled seal has an inner profiled section extending between the faces of the collars and that the outer surfaces of the outer profiled section surrounding the peripheral surfaces of the collars are reinforced at a guide ring. Thus, the particular sealing region is disposed between the faces of the collars. The assembly is simplified by the reinforced outer profiled section of the profiled seal.

    摘要: A dual seal gasket specifically configured to seal the joint between adjacent concrete pipes comprising an annular substantially resilient member including a first retainer element engaging disposed on the outer surface of one of the adjacent concrete pipes having its longitudinal axis substantially parallel to the longitudinal axis of the adjacent concrete pipes, a first sealing element including an upper and lower enlarged truncated compressible members interconnected by a reduced intermediate member extending inwardly from the first retainer element and substantially perpendicular thereto and a second sealing element including a compressible body having a pair of compressible finger members extending outwardly therefrom in a substantially V-shaped configuration having its longitudinal axis substantially parallel to the longitudinal axis of the first retainer element and substantially perpendicular to the longitudinal axis of the first sealing element such that as the adjacent concrete pipes are placed in operative relation relative to each other the first retainer element retains the dual seal gasket therebetween as the first and second sealing elements are compressed therebetween to seal the joint between the adjacent concrete pipes.

    摘要: A lip seal for making a gastight seal between two abutting surfaces. A peripheral groove is formed in one of the abutting surfaces and has a bearing surface facing toward the direction of positive differential fluid flow. A backing lip surface forms a reentrant lip between the bearing surface and the respective abutment surface, and a relief surface joins the bearing surface to the abutment surface. A ring seal has a pair of legs joined by a central bight, one of the legs and the bight having a surface which matches and bears against the bearing surface and the backing lip surface, the other leg carrying a sealing surface and projecting beyond the groove so as to make a deflectible and fluidtight resilient seal with the opposite abutment surface.
