    摘要: An aircraft light consists of a housing containing a light source, a heat sink element forming at least part of the exterior surface of the housing and an auxiliary thermal capacitor that is thermally decoupled from the heat sink element. A thermally expandable medium is coupled to the heat sink element and operates to thermally decouple the light source from the heat sink element and thermally couple the light source to the auxiliary thermal capacitor and vice versa, depending on the actual temperature of the heat sink element.

    摘要: A lighting assembly apparatus for wingtip position lights and an anti-collision light (ACL). The lighting assembly apparatus reduces light flashback caused by the ACL by including one or more internal baffles located inside of a lens. A lens retainer receives the lens. The lens retainer includes a base section and internal baffles. The one or more internal baffles include a crossbeam baffle that is attached between upper and lower surfaces of the lens retainer. The crossbeam baffle reduces light flashback caused by the ACL and complies with ACL/regulatory requirements. The internal baffle includes a stepped edge that also reduces light flashback caused by the ACL and complies with ACL requirements.

    摘要: The present invention is a lighting system for providing illumination to an aircraft evacuation slide. Light sources are safely utilized with an existing evacuation slide, a substantial improvement over prior assemblies that use a hard, plastic housing enclosing the light source. The invention increases light transmission, eliminates housing cracking, inadvertent puncturing, clouding, and decreases weight and cost of conventional slide systems. Each assembly comprises a mounting surface and a printed circuit board thereon, light sources, preferably light-emitting diodes (LEDs) mounted on the mounting surface, the light sources illuminating the aircraft evacuation slide, and a flexible containment covering, such as a heat shrink wrap that covers the assembly and protects the light sources. A protective shield can cover the mounting surface while allowing the LEDs to protrude through an aperture in the shield, protecting the LEDs from damaging forces while allowing light to illuminate the landing area.

    摘要: A process for making stained glass Tiffany-type lamp shades which comprises providing a kit containing an inscribed fiberglass form, a pressure-sensitive wax adhesive for attaching shaped pieces of different sized stained glass to the form in correspondingly shaped and sized circumscribed areas on the surface of the form, and a print on which a particular design is imprinted corresponding to the circumscribed areas on the form, and which may be cut out into patterns to be used to cut stained glass of different colors into pieces to conform to the various shapes and sizes to be incorporated into the design. A transparency is also provided on which the entire design is reproduced to slightly expanded size as opaque lines on a transparent medium. The transparency is placed over a light box, and each cut stained glass piece is placed in its corresponding position on the transparency as a preview to aid in the color selection of the stained glass pieces.
