Abstract: A device for monitoring and alerting for contact of an object with a line strung between two upright posts includes a housing having a body and a mounting portion extending from the body. A mount is positioned in the mounting portion. A camera a is positioned on the mounting portion for downward viewing of the line. A processor is positioned in the housing and an accelerometer is position in the housing in operable communication with the processor. The device includes a power supply operably connected to the processor. When the device is positioned on the line and the accelerometer senses movement of the device, the accelerometer generates and transmits a signal to the processor. The processor analyses the signal to determine whether the signal meets a threshold and, if the threshold is met, the processor generates and transmits an alarm signal to a receiving device.

Abstract: Many headset devices, such as virtual reality helmets, present visuals that respond to the user's motion, such that a rotation of the user's head causes the visual to be re-rendered from a correspondingly rotated perspective. The lag between the user's motion and the updated rendering from the new perspective may be perceivable even at high framerates, and may induce unpleasant feelings such as vertigo. Instead, headset devices may respond to detected motion by identifying a displacement of the physical location of the visual that causes it to maintain a physical position relative to a stationary reference point. The display is operatively coupled with a displacer, such as actuators or a projection adjustment, that are engaged to displace the display according to the identified displacement and maintain a physical location of the visual relative to the stationary reference point (e.g., until the visual is re-rendered from the updated perspective).

Abstract: A device includes a signaling means and a motion sensor, and logic for activating or controlling the signaling means in response to a sensed motion according to an embedded logic. The device may be used as a toy, and may be shaped like a play ball or as a handheld unit. It may be powered from a battery, either chargeable from an AC power source directly or contactless by using induction or by converting electrical energy from harvested kinetic energy. The embedded logic may activate or control the signaling means, predictably or randomly, in response to sensed acceleration magnitude or direction, such as sensing the crossing of a preset threshold or sensing the peak value. The visual means may be a numeric display for displaying a value associated with the count of the number of times the threshold has been exceeded or the peak magnitude of the acceleration sensed.

Abstract: A universal sensor mount for mounting a sensor module to a machine in a precise orientation and a corresponding sensor module installation method. The universal sensor mount includes a main body having a central main axis. A machine mounting member extends from the main body in a first direction substantially parallel to the main axis for attachment to the machine. A threaded sensor module mounting member extends from the main body in a second direction substantially parallel to the main axis for threaded attachment to the sensor module. The sensor module mounting member is rotatable relative to the main body. An adjustable locking member in the main body is operable to lock the sensor module mounting member in a selected rotational position. The selected rotational position of the sensor module mounting member determines a rotational position of the sensor module when it is attached to the sensor module mounting member.

Abstract: An electronic device is installed in a machine where there is a possibility in occurrence of vibration or impact. The electronic device includes an acceleration detecting unit detecting acceleration in a predetermined time interval, and an impact determining unit. In a case where it is determined that an acceleration value exceeds a predetermined first threshold value, a second threshold value is calculated based on a maximum value among acceleration values of plural accelerations for a predetermined time interval after the determination. In a case where the number of accelerations where acceleration values exceeds the second threshold value among the plural accelerations is a predetermined number or less, the impact as a single-type impact is determined. In a case where the number exceeds the predetermined number, the impact as a multiple-type impact is determined. Also included is an output unit outputting a signal in a case where the impact is determined as the multiple-type impact.

Abstract: A method includes receiving, at a master agent, announcements from candidate consumer agents indicating the presence of the candidate consumer agents. Each announcement includes display parameters for a display of the corresponding candidate consumer agent. The method further includes receiving at the master agent content parameters from a producer agent, the content parameters defining characteristics of content to be provided by the consumer agent. A mosaic screen is configured based on the received announcements and the content parameters. This configuring of the mosaic screen includes selecting ones of the consumer agents for which an announcement was received and generating content distribution parameters based on the content parameters and the display parameters of the selected ones of the consumer agents. The generated content distribution parameters are provided to the consumer agent.
