A phase noise measurement module (PNMM), system and method for measuring phase noise improve accuracy of phase noise measurements of a signal under test (SUT) using a spectrum analyzer. The PNMM comprises an RF to IF frequency converter and a selectable frequency divider. The system comprises the PNMM connected to the spectrum analyzer and employs an LO signal from a tunable LO in the spectrum analyzer. The method comprises directly converting an input SUT to an IF signal having either a second or a third IF frequency that is applied to a corresponding frequency conversion stage of the spectrum analyzer before the phase noise is measured. The present invention bypasses a first conversion stage, and typically a second conversion stage as well, of the spectrum analyzer and directly converts the SUT to either the second or third IF frequency, thereby reducing phase noise added to the SUT.

A device for compensating for the nonlinearity of a power amplifier which has a simple configuration and can precisely linearize the transfer characteristics of the power amplifier by predistorting an input signal of the power amplifier. The nonlinearity compensation device of the present invention converts an RF input signal into an IF band rather than a baseband and predistorts the RF input signal in digital domain, and thus any modulation or demodulation process is obviated and the simultaneous processing of signals in multiple channels is facilitated. A first downconverter receives the RF input signal and converts the frequency band of the signal into the IF band to output an IF input signal. A predistortion unit receives and predistorts the IF input signal to compensate for the nonlinearity, and outputs an IF predistorted signal. An upconverter converts the frequency band of the IF predistorted signal into the RF band to provide such a signal to the amplifier.

A device for verifying frequency of a clock signal generated from a clock signal generator includes a reference signal generator, a frequency divider and a comparative detector. A reference clock signal and a reset signal are provided by the reference signal generator. The frequency divider in communication with the reference signal generator and the clock signal generator receives and frequency-divides the clock signal into a bi-level divided clock signal in response to the reset signal. Then the comparative detector in communication with the frequency divider and the reference signal generator detects a level of the bi-level divided clock signal in response to the reset signal and the reference clock signal, and verifies frequency of the clock signal according to a period deviation range Te when the bi-level divided clock signal is detected to be a first level from the first to the (pnullq)th detected points but a second level at the (pnull1)th detected point.
