摘要: A frequency measuring device can measure the frequency of a noisy power system at high speed. The system voltage is measured at timings obtained by equally dividing one reference-wave period. Voltage vectors are calculated which have tip ends, each voltage vector consisting of a real part of a first measured voltage and an imaginary part of another voltage measured at timing 90 degrees before the first measured voltage. The length of a chord connecting tip ends of adjacent voltage vectors is calculated. A voltage root-mean-square value is calculated from voltages measured between two timings spaced from each other by the one reference-wave period. Chord lengths obtained between two timings spaced from each other by the one reference-wave period are summed. Based on the total of the chord lengths and the voltage root-mean-square value, there is calculated a phase angle between two adjacent voltage vectors, from which the system frequency is calculated.

摘要: Methods are provided for determining deviations from nullnull0null in test resonators based on the quasi-pure modes' displacement ratio variations with 4 angle. A direct relationship between deviation from nullnull0null and the c-mode displacement ratio has been observed, so that the larger the deviation from nullnull0null, then the larger is the change in the normalized frequency of the c-mode upon immersion in, or contact with, a fluid. The method comprises measuring null and null angles in reference resonators with different small null angles and quasi-pure mode frequencies of reference resonators in both air and a test fluid at ambient temperatures, calculating the normalized frequency changes between the air and fluid measurements as a reference point, measuring the test resonator in air then in the fluid and comparing the results. Also provided are similar methods for measuring the null angles in the quasi-pure mode of near-BT-cut resonator plates and the LGX family of rotated-y-cut ZTC crystal resonators, so that the appropriate modes' displacement ratio variations with the null angle determine deviations from nullnull0null. In the preferred method of this invention the test fluid used for measuring a reference fluid quasi-pure mode frequency is pure water at ambient temperature.

摘要: The present invention relates to electronic calibration equipment for verifying the high frequency characteristics of electronic test equipment, including oscilloscopes and time interval analyzers. An electronic circuit (40) for generating an electronic fast edge waveform (109,110) of selectable amplitude comprises: a waveform output (102) from the circuitry; a plurality of attenuation stages (124-127), the attenuation stages being connected without any switching elements to each other to form a cascaded series of attenuation stages leading to the waveform output (102) and each of the attenuation stages (124-127) in the series being bounded by circuit nodes (115,132,133,134,135); one or more pulse generators (105) for producing an unattenuated source of the fast edge waveform (105,106); and means for selectively applying the fast edge waveform source to a corresponding selected one of the circuit nodes so that the fast edge waveform propagates from the selected circuit node (115,132,133,134,135) through a selected number of attenuation stages (124-127) to the waveform output (102) thereby attenuating the fast edge waveform (109,110) to a selected amplitude.

摘要: A system for characterizing periodic structures formed on a sample on a real time basis is disclosed. A multi-parameter measurement module generates output signals as a function of either wavelength or angle of incidence. The output signals are supplied to a parallel processor. The processor creates an initial theoretical model and then calculates the theoretical optical response of that sample. The calculated optical response is compared to measured values. Based on the comparison, the model configuration is modified to be closer to the actual measured structure. The processor recalculates the optical response of the modified model and compares the result to the measured data. This process is repeated in an iterative manner until a best fit is achieved. The steps of calculating the optical response of the model is distributed to the processors as a function of wavelength or angle of incidence so these calculations can be performed in parallel.

A digital noise signal having a particular profile can then be generated by a summation of a plurality of tones based on the predefined frequency, amplitude and phase values for each of the plurality of tones for the selected profile. The wander noise signal is then generated from the digital noise signal.

摘要: A method to estimate motor speed for extended stabilized rotational control of an induction motor at all speeds including slow speeds. The speed estimator supplies real-time motor control feedback information for a variable speed motor drive controller without a mechanical encoder. The speed estimator is based on an optimized fast orthogonal search algorithm with control of the carrier drive frequency to reduce computation time. The reduced processing time provides for an update rate to the motor controller sufficient to maintain motor stability to near zero the motor rated base speed.
