摘要： A photographic processing apparatus includes a negative film outlet (60), a printing paper developing section (30), a print outlet (50) for cutting printing paper developed to predetermined lengths, and discharging the cut printing paper as prints, and a collating transport device (70) for receiving the negative films in units from the negative film outlet and the prints in units from the print outlet, and combining and transporting the negative films and prints as finished products. A piece negative inlet (15) is provided for feeding piece negatives (2) cut from one negative film to the photographic processing apparatus for passing the piece negatives through an exposing process therein. The piece negatives in one unit fed from the piece negative inlet to the exposing section and having undergone the exposing process are passed through a negative cutter (25) without being cut, discharged from the negative film outlet, and loaded into the collating transport device (70) to be combined with the prints in the corresponding unit.

摘要： A photographic film and printing method and apparatus for the film are disclosed. The apparatus comprises reading means which reads an ID number at the time of print with film processing of the photographic film having the ID number printed thereon; print data entering means which enters print data about the exposure amount; storage means which associates and stores the ID number and the print data so that the print data obtained at the time of the print with film processing is saved; exposure controlling means which reads the ID number of said photographic film, retrieves the print data which corresponds to the ID number from said storage means, and automatically controls the exposure amount based on said print data when said photographic film is reprinted. As a result, the quality of the photographic film can be maintained constant without operator's help in either case of the print with film processing and the reprint.

摘要： A photo film cassette includes a spool for winding the photo film thereabout, and a cassette shell for containing the spool in a rotatable manner. The spool has first and second ends disposed to appear outside the cassette shell. To manufacture the photo film cassette, a cassette shell with the spool is retained while confronting a drive shaft with the first end and confronting a support shaft with the second end. The support shaft is slid in an axial direction, to support the second end. The spool is displaced via the support shaft to a braked state where rotation of the spool is blocked. The spool is displaceable between the braked state and a released state. The drive shaft is rotated and slid while the spool is in the braked state, to engage the drive shaft with the first end in a key-engaged manner. After the drive shaft is engaged with the first end, the spool is displaced from the braked state to the released state. The drive shaft is rotated to wind the photo film about the spool, which is rotated inside the cassette shell while supported by the support shaft and the drive shaft.

摘要： A consumer interactive apparatus and method for ordering photofinishing services for a photosensitive film. The photosensitive film is provided with a device for indicating a prepaid amount of photofinishing services available. The apparatus includes an input device for allowing entry of a photofinishing order, a mechanism for receiving a film containing a magnetic media for indicating a prepaid amount of photofinishing services, and reading device for reading the magnetic media for determining the amount of prepaid photo services available. The input device allows the user to select the desired type of photofinishing services with respect to the film being supplied to the apparatus. The apparatus allows the customer to order photofinishing service as desired by the customer and also allows debiting of the magnetic layer such that the amount remaining after the placement of the order is placed on the magnetic layer.

摘要： A method is provided for a customer to provide a message, design or other visible information to be printed upon prints during processing of photographic film supplied by the customer. The process involves scanning an annotated surface containing the visible information, creating a reproducible file containing the visible information and printing the visible information from the file onto a photographic print during the photofinishing processing. The customer information may be directly written or otherwise connected with a photofinishing envelope in which the film is forwarded to the photofinisher. The envelopes or messages may be scanned and the envelopes saved for return to the customer with the finished prints and negatives. If the envelopes are scanned at the time of removing the film, the reproducible file may be electronically stored and retrieved during printing of the photographic prints on which the information is to be printed. Various alternative steps in the process are disclosed.

摘要： A method of printing regular photographic prints on a strip of paper along with index prints--that is, prints with images that are smaller than those in the regular prints--from series of negatives on rolls of film. The smaller images are projected next to and one after another along the strip to produce an index print as wide as the strip. The regular prints and the index prints are printed at different points along the strip. The results of area-by-area measurements of the negatives obtained while the regular prints are being printed are exploited to control light quantities while the index prints are being printed. The distance the strip of paper advances from one printing point to the other is regulated to ensure that paper is advanced to the index print printing point once the last negative in a series has been projected onto the strip until the trailing edge of the last print arrives at the margin of the exposure area in the index print printing point. Further printing procedures are discontinued at the regular print printing point until the trailing end of a length of paper that is reserved for the index print associated with that series of negatives, and that must accordingly not be exposed to light, has crossed the edge of the exposure opening near the index print printing point.

摘要： A process and apparatus are provided for printing individual customer rolls of photographic film in a batch that differs from the film batch during development. Individual film rolls are collected during printing in batches that are based in major part on optimizing the use of photographic paper. The film is scanned after development to determine information available only then, such as the image format, and the film is batched during printing based on efficient paper use. Each film roll is provided with a unique identification number that is used for tracking the film rolls throughout processing and printing. Information required for printing is entered into the system in association with the unique number and is used in combination with information determined after film development for optimizing the printing operation based on the paper required.
